Just thought I would drop by. I am not a big fan of quick dry but if you don't mind the taste of chlorophyll go for it. In regards to time to harvest the Hairs and trichomes are two different stories. The hairs or pistils will turn during flower, In my case as soon as the 4th week. Its the trichomes that will tell you when it is ripe.
At first they are clear, thats when they are transferring light energy to the plant through the bulb on top. Then toward the end the get cloudy, they stay cloudy for weeks. Once they are no longer useful they turn amber. When about half of them are amber is the best time to cut.
The other thing is this, you can cut anytime, dry them then cure them. In the curing process they will finish or turn amber.

Thanks for stoppin back in cruzer! I have been watching the trichs daily and curently they are about 95% cloudy with like 1 out of 100 being amber. So your saying that if I cut now I may still get the 50/50 im looking for? Because I do want the 50% amber so we have a narcotic smack you on your ass type of weed.
Ya the quick dry did suck but it was nice to have an idea of what kind of high the plant will give us. Plus with the vape it didnt taste bad just different.

Well I still only see like 1 amber trich out of 50 cloudy ones. The buds "look" done though. Was going to shut the lights off tonight and give them 72 hours darkness and harvest Saturday. Saturday will be 67 days of 12/12.
Any thoughts on this? Should I wait longer for more to go amber? Or is it possible they will turn alot more amber during the 3 days dark and the dry/cure?

Last night I checked a few different spots on my plant and it looked like probably 1 in 10 trichs were amber. So I unplugged the lights once they went out. Now she shall sit in darkness until Sunday, then its chop chop!
Also the buds from the branches that broke off finally dried. I have had them in a jar burping daily for a few days. Now these buds were dried in the flower room so it wasnt dark & my fan for the plant was also hitting the drying buds. So I know it was a shitty dry and no cure. But let me just say we vaped some lastnight and WOW!
When the actual plant is fully matured dried right and cured it may be too strong for us lol. We will have to build a tolerance just to smoke a full bowl from our bong lol. ITS GREAT!

Here are the pics from the harvest! It turns out my wife LOVES to trim bud lol. She did virtually all of the trimming. I can not believe how much bud we are going to have. I will let everyone know what the dried wait is.

I know I am bringing this back from the dead, but I would love to know the final yield on this grow! For your first time, it was incredible! And you only used the 8 42watt cfls? So good. More of these!
I got roughly 3 ounces off that one plant! Major beginners luck lol. This time I have 6 going that I'm doing 12/12 from seed. But I have not added pics to my new grow journal yet. Since I am doing 12/12 from seed I really wont be doing LST this time so they wont be bushes like my first plant.
Yup the whole thing was done with 8 CFLs.

That's fuckin' crazy bro. Great work. I am trying to compile a bunch of CFL journals that show different amounts of light being successful, and yours is right up there on the list! Thanks for the response!
