First time grower, AlphaKronik Gobstopper , soil

I been meaning to mention it , the signs of mites are holes in leafs from nowhere. It looks like heat / wind damage . Then little scuff marks between veins of leaf, then those areas turn yellow. New growth stunts and then comes in deformed because it was eaten while tiny.

when you were talking about your weird 'deficiency' I instantly thought hmm that looks like my mite problem in the early days.

1 spray bottle water + 1 tsp dawn antibacterial.

Sprayed the shit out of biggie top and bottom sprayed everything the walls the pot alll the things.

Really dont wanna pesticide my crop. Trying hard.

Mites walking on me fell by noticable amount first spray. Second spray at watering. 5 gals water in. trying to let them eat the soil bare before flower.

If nothing else the soap water is curtailing an infestation to a problem that liberal pestacides will surely solve if this doesnt.

Oh lil is now big and big is heavily stunted by mites. Lil has natural resistance it seems. jose, this pic is a perfect example of mite damage. 1583287969008.png

Ive basically clobbered most of the mites. Went from being able to feel 10 or more on me at once to not noticing them any more in two days.

I got me a wet vac for pulling the nute juice out of the overflow. Its fanntastic clearing overflow bin takes a min now and doesnt hurt my back.

That leaf, was eaten by invisible mites. Looks like nutes , but isnt.

PSA
A respirator will not save you from corona virus / covid19.
It will however save me from the pesticides i just sprayed.

Please dont be dumb and leave respirators at ace hardware for people who need them

Moment of silence for the mites . Near instant results no more itching when I open the tent

so
antibacterial dish soap -- causes more damage than it prevents. It did kill a shit ton of mites and pushed them back at apex mite infestation till the chemicals came. Tip burn , red marks where residue sat dripping... bad news but the mites subsided by over 50% straight away.

Chemicals.... floramite and avid seem to have worked immediately. Not a fan of poisionous residues on my plants but my goal is eradicate once and then not need to resort to this again. Hopefully preventative measures work from here out.

I also washed all fabrics , and cleaned, and sprayed all surfacesdown with h2o2 and mopped up multiple times . Idea being to catch them migrating away and kill them . Seems to help actually.

Seriously, thank you for updating. I know once warmer weather comes around I'm going to be battling those little bastards too

i think my issue was a blanket i kept over the window for both concealment and insulation. Then I backed the tent up to touching it. Little time and jualla dust mite infestation. I dont think these were your standard pest, i think they were homebrew. Opportunists. Little fuckers bite.

The soap, would have worked if it wasnt antibacterial i think. Lemon dawn for the win.

I think spraying clones .... is a decent idea. The foilage wont even survive but the mites will be dead. Preventative is where the smart money is. Spray clones , spray everything maybe early on? My tent is now toxic i assume so i should have some permanent resistance cause i doubt this stuff ever really leaves.

Oh i took my scrubber and other stuff out and stuck it in the car to freeze overnight The idea is kill mites not poison equipment .

DEFOLIATE BEFORE YOU SPRAY DONT BE AN IDIOT LIKE ME and do it after its covered in poison . Remove most bottom large growth. You will see what i mean some leafs get gigantic the bottom ones . Those are almost for ssure covered in mites. open the bottom up to spray the undersides. THEN spray.

Leafs will be toxic for 28 days , and im guessing that is under outside conditions. Ive seen people claim their tests proved residual at 80 days.
Cant back it up, but i do NOT think spraying right before flower is wise. Smart money is spray them at latest 2 weeks before. pref as small clones or not at all.

Worth noting this shit is flammable.

I havent grown any third arms or legs so i think this is a success.

Common sense !!!!! WAsh hands and arms back to elbows every single time you touch them from here out.

lots of weird things, I call them sonic the hedgehogs. They turned into the little leaf things.
Then lots of spades / balls on stands.

Bummer. But honestly a friend who ran 200 pots called biggie a male the second week. Its actually why I stalled to roll out lil.

He said the white undersides of flowers.... (the active growing part) told him. 1583518458980.png Underside of lil, vs a male mature flower.
