First time indoor grow (need advise on grow setup)

I've read that as well but I'm worried about doing that because if I scratch away even like a centimeter of soil there are immediately roots visable

That’s fine. Just take off what you can and put and inch or two on top of that.

Sure, those white hairs that are sticking out of the buds will stop standing and recede back into the buds or at least start to lay flat.
