First timer and using bubbleponic

Idea is sound if the trichs tell you the top buds on that chiesel are ready and the rest need a little more time or you can get to some of the underbud with more light and therefore a bigger net harvest.
 
I will definately wait till it's ready to take the tops. (Trichs 75% amber?) With the rest my thinking is, the bottoms on that will then get bigger, but more than that, the plant won't die and I won't have to get rid of dead roots while waiting for the rest to finish.
 
75% amber is passed it's prime in my view. I'd keep it under 50% amber for the best potency.

You'll have to check the trich developement on your underbud. I've had it happen both ways. Sometimes the top are ready but the underbud is immature and can benefit from some more time and light and sometimes it gets ripe over the whole plant. I have no idea why that happens but it does. The best explanation I can come up with is that when I switched to the 250 HPS the underbud was ripe when the tops were right 2 out of 3 times. The first one wasn't but the last two were. Maybe it's me getting better at light/canopy management.

YOU CAN GO BY A CALANDER, AND IT WILL BE BETWEEN 8 AND 9 WEEKS FOR MOST INDICA.
You can buy a $10 lighted battery operated 10X microscope at Radio Shack to examine the trichs.
You can wait until all the hairs are reddish or browish or dark beer colored.

again, all the above are rules of thumb and many will argue this, but until you've done a few grows and learn any better, this is good advise.
 
I'm trying the Veg Nute experiment. I just snuck in a gallon of H2O with 1/6th Grow+Micro and 1/6th Bloom+Micro. See how that works out.
 
I sure like what I see on my grow, adding 1/6 GROW (VEG) nutes. Made them stink more tho but buds are enlarging.

Uncle Ben, a well respected but controversal grower here, says he always ahrvests the top 1/3 of his gorw, the larger colas, and waits 2 or 3 weeks, after they get additional light, to harvest the remaining lower, smaller buds.
I don't have the patience after I start whacking away to wait another 2 or 3 weeks. I wish I did, I would get more weight.

That's the easy part, once I have some to smoke I can wait on the rest, alot easier than it has been.
 
Yep, bought shit in our neighborhood has been suspect for quite a while. Lot's of brown schwag rolling around here. At least it's cheap at between 120/150/oz.

I know he said I was selling seeds because of that post:wall: Anyways I messaged him to try and straighten things out and so far no response and I have a feeling I won't get one. The thing that sucks the most is I had about 300 subscriptions that I have to find again and I have to rebuild my rep. But Im not going to worry to much about it to much there is nothing I can do about it andat least I didn't have a journal going.bongsmilie

See that little bar with the grey and red blocks over the orange and green bars. If a guy is in the red it means the guy has helped a lot of people and is to be considered a resource when needed.
 
Still a few weeks away from initial harvest from what I have been advised. Did a drain and replenish monday night
 
Shits starting to get sticky! Sorry for no pics this week but I had to bend the tall Chiesel back over the tank so the tops could get light, and it is blocking the big buds from frontal view

I have a setup using a 2" polyethelene pipe with two end caps. Punch one hole on top for the butane fitting and lots of hole in the bottom like a salt shaker and cheese cloth as a filter. It is VERY dangerous and must be done outside away from any chance of a spark.

Having said that the soda bottle should work but I don't know how much butane I would feel safe puttin in.

In my set-up I do one can of Vector brand butane. They're not kidding about using high quality butane. You want 5x purified. Anything less just makes a chemical mess.
