Oh i get it the more money you spend the more plus reps you get ?? I mean im happy to see these on here too but people who put time and effort into their grow deserve plus reps, not just because they buy expensive toys. He admitted to doing a sub-par grow and not doing any work but people keep giving plus rep?? I guess people dont read before they rep others?? No offense to thread starter i just think people are too loose with the scales of justice, ya know.

Thats a bit pricey if you ask me but then again if you are among the lucky few with the extra 2000 laying around...

haha how much does the big boy cost. Wouldn't that be awesome to have that running low-key? Yields would be... Massive!

I said that the garden was under utilized not necessarily "sub par" as you put it. It produced the best possible bud from that plant and I had just grown the same plant in the system described below.

I am all for others sweating their asses off trying to reinvent the wheel. Its not like its easy to make the choice to go against the mass dismissing and trashing the omega/volks units get.

First grow with tech that I am not familiar with is not likely to produce optimum results, however I am totally stoked by the results of the volks and with what I know now. The product was selected as top drawer from the dispensary, need I say more?

before the Volksgarden I was into a Deep Water Culture garden. I had a couple of 30
gallon tubs with 8 plants in each. The rockwool cubes sit in net
pots that get blasted by a mister every 15 minutes. Eventually the
roots get big enough to hang down and fill the tub. This style of
growing is supposed to produce some of the best results for hydro.
But I have found that the VG is much better. Because it's all
about the tops. The tops of plants are the hardest and most
resinous, and the VG only produces tops. No time or energy is
wasted creating big plants that produce a large amount of unusable
underdeveloped flowers on the lower branches. And the water
changes with a DWC garden were a huge pain. With the VG I do half
the labor (half an hour a week) for 4 times the plants I used to
run. And my nutrient costs per crop have been chopped by 75%.

To the dudes complaining about the price I'm sure that given the right strain and conditions along with good lighting the thing will more than pay for itself the first time around. It will take some time to get it dialed in and stuff but holy shit I'm jealous.

Imagine running some OG through there and getting a pound or more? Easily pays for itself with that run alone!

no problems bro, i am not up on the rep system but im sure i will catch on.

i value my time at a certain rate and for me the time to build one of these units plus the time i save in the grow grind is sooo worth it to me. if i build one i have to do it right the first time or thats all wasted time as well. plus if i build it, it's going to be a heavy muther cause it wont be made from molded plastic parts. this whole unit isnt more then about 70 lbs and is just the right size.

ban the fuck riu guy. Hes annoying. Im positive i can weld a 2 to 4 foot metal wheel with inserts for plants, and a motor to turn it, all ontop of a water tray for wick water feeding for under 200 bucks. Im gunna start workin on it
i have read many similar comments about this type of system in the past, though to my knowledge no one has ever done it, or got it to the point that they were happy enough about it to post pics in a forum.

i would like to see it done though by anyone, or maybe a contest with many trying to pull off an omega. it looks like an easy things to do, however i think it would cost quite a bit and you would still have something that was home made, not that there is anything wrong with home made.

$200 though seems like a total miss on the estimate. how much time are you accounting for? and i guess you are not counting paying yourself for that time.

I completely agree, every one bags on the Omegas, and says they can make one, but no one makes one!! I know I cam capable of building on with the right equipment, time, and materials. But like was stated before, it would likely be heavy, and not nearly as well thought out as the volks, or omega gardens. Personally I think the foodle is kinda wierd, but I am a big fan of the volks. I would really like to have 3 of them, so I could have a nice perpetual harvest. Be harvesting one system every month.

if i had 6000 i would do that too . i think the foodle would be the easiest to build (no motor and flat plant table could maybe use a outdoor table-top like a cheapie rubbermade patio furniture)

i think i could build one .....i probably wont though hahahalol

the foodle is a bit odd but i think it really about growing food.

depending on the strain you run you can be done in 8 to 9 weeks total cause of how short the veg cycle is so you can have your perpetual monthly harvest or close to it with maybe only 2 units

I have one word for any one that complains about the system, and especially about the price. If you have the money, then its simply an "investment"!!!

I'm building a small rotary system myself actually. I'm interested in seeing your pics and how it goes for you with the volksgarden.
