It's been an up and down battle. Things look good, things look bad, than good again and etc.
With that being said though things look a lot better than they did 2 weeks ago so just might be a matter of patience.
One thing I've learned is to make sure not to go longer than a week with the res and Piranha, without changing it or adding more. It seems the Piranha lives for about a week and when it's done it only takes 2 days to kill all my progress and having to start from square one again.

Update: So after a long mostly losing battle I've decided it's start all over time.
I'm going to take my most healthy looking plants and at least try to flower them out using the Piranha but tossing the rest, cleaning and bleaching the shit out of everything in my veg room and start over from clones(which I will be taking this morning).
It's a big understatement to say lesson learned here but hopefully this experience will help me from preventing it happen ever again in the future. I will be watching my roots obsessively for now on and will be taking action at the first sign of discoloration.
I did learn a lot and I can for sure say that when I do need a little help it'll be the Piranha that I'll be reaching for. Unfortunately it's just not affordable enough to use on a regular basis though.
I will continue to drop updates on my new stuff once it gets going to let you guys know how things are turning out.

I use orca, and I have a bottle of hydroguard. Orca is great. When my water went down, I saw a light pink ring in the bucket. Added orca, tossed in water and within an hour, the bucket was sparkling. Active little fuckers.

I've tried hydroguard and sag but neither one even helped. I think the biggest problem for me was that I've never had root rot issues before so by the time I figured out what the problem was it was already so bad that I just can't fix it now. I now know I need to stay on top of it from day 1 and not let things get to this point.

You could buy a chiller, and truly never worry again. Probably $100-150 on your local craigslist.

I don't think water temps are my problem though. This morning when I checked it was at 63f. I think the problem originated from fungus gnats but I could be wrong.

Thx man, I appreciate that. I have plenty of seeds, it's just the extra time it takes to grow em up to the point of being able to take new cuts is what sucks.

maybe..pythium isn't the only thing that causes root rot, but it is the most common one. you have at least a 50% chance the clones will be alright. it will be pretty obvious pretty quickly if they aren't

Ok I see. It does seem kind of odd that cuttings with no roots yet would just automatically have pythium, just because the moms do.

I've used chlorine at higher concentrations to kill pythium and then used hydroguard afterwards to keep it gone.
