I messaged the sales reps and they told me it's not to be used in dwc systems. I'd upload a picture but is not working. I spoke with a Florida sales rep
Maybe I’m stubborn, or narrow-minded, but I would tend to side with the sales rep regardless of customer reviews. They’re not going to try to lose sales. It seems to me, and please correct me if I’m wrong, that if one keeps their reservoir at an optimal temperature too low to support undesirable bacterial and fungal growth, yet not so low so as to deplete oxygen, that these products would be unnecessary altogether (especially bleach and hydrogen peroxide).
I found this little chiller on some obscure foreign website like Temu. No English, but you can figure it out. Keeps my res at whatever temperature I’d like, usually between 17°C, and 20°C. One less recurring purchase, $45 USD, and so far 100% effective. It’s only big enough to capacitate a 5 gal DWC though 4.5” x 4.5” x 9”. Big boy chillers are easy to find, but MONEY MONEY MONEY.
PS with a little know how, a hot glue gun, a couple $ and a cheap power converter you can make one. Let me know if you’d like instructions.
