Flowering with Cree bulbs

Aww i was hoping we might finally get some clarification on what bulbs contain what LEDs > <, oh well have some rep anyways...
Faukin A, going to try again tomorrow night on a different one.

To the naked eye close-up you can make out 10 round diodes, each separate on 10 panels [thermal pad] Thin spot in the globe.
I do have a crappy pic, best I can do. [you can see 2-3 diodes in the pic] my camera is starting to fade....

Edit: Not an indication that they AREN'T xt-e, but the diodes are setup differently than the warm whites. That I can tell.

The math with 10 diodes @ 79mA for 800 lumens, could work for the xb-e. That's just a broadside guess...

The rounds are the XTs...better for 2700k. The flat squares are XBs...better for 5000k.
Thanks for bat!

Seems that, I, had it backwards to begin with. 2 more bulbs are going in the oven 2nite. Pisses me off about last night. I don't know if I was being to careful [history of slicing hands, lol] or if they have addressed the problem?

Find out more 2nite.

If you have it wrong that would mean i have it wrong and i don't think i have it wrong, here is a pic of the xtes on the left and the xbs in the br 30 on the right, and if you ask me that picture although very unclear looks a lot more like the xbes to me, and didn't you say that is the soft white model we are looking at?

Yep, my terrible picture was of a Soft White [only thing Now available in my area too] and it definitely looks the bulb on the right!

You confirmed this by looking threw the bulb? I was also going to mention that with the xbs orientated the way they are they should illuminate the top of the bulb much better than the xtes...

Also the last dude who posted on your thread showed a pic showing that you can confirm xbs by looking threw the clear part on the base of the bulb he also said that he couldnt see anything on the warm whites.

Ive been so annoyed with this that i've been about to bash one of my globes with a hammer, but after a bit of searching im pretty sure that i've come to the conclusion that the warm whites are the xtes and the soft whites are xbs.

For the newer made models yes. They're all mixed in on shelves, so who knows what you'll get. I plan on supplementing my panels with these anyway. Cree denied different diodes in CW and WW A19s...said the were defects and trade them in until you get the ones you want. Couldn't give me a serial number or anything.

I have several bulbs where the coating is missing from the inside, almost like a gloved thumbprint hit before it was assembled. I was taking the pic with some back ground light. The camera doesn't show it, but to the naked eye I can pretty much make out the entire assembly.

I did try and look thru the base slits on the bulbs that weren't defective but no go.

[PIc] Warm White on the left, Soft White on the right. To the naked eye not much difference. There looks to be Even more a dead on spot on top of the SW globe, suggesting more side direction instead of a true "omni"?

Yes they are. Just for that I'll go get some Philips.

Any particular reason why. Don't get me wrong, Hy got me turned on to them and I am running 1-2 with Crees in my 1st flower cab and 6 with GE bulbs [new] and more Cree's in the 2nd.

But I got to thinking about the CRI that hyroot brought up [85 for the Phillips and 80 for the Cree]. However, you cannot compare these two CRI values, you can only compare CRI values of the same wavelength. 3000k for the pHillips.

I am under the impression that these need to be compared separately in terms of their spectrum defined by CRI.

I am a big fan of Lumiled's but I can find even less info on the phillips bulbs than the Cree's.

Philips are pretty expensive, which is why I hope to find a cree solution. I have 6 of the philips weird shaped 2700k bulbs. Nice thing about those is there's a rubber remote phosphor you can remove and put back on. With it off they're royal blue luxeon, and on they're back to 2700k. Another nice thing is they are all facing one way. So I'm going to test a veg with the blues and then replace the phosphor for flower. Still kicking myself for not buying a ton of them when they were on sale for $5. I posted about them awhile back.

It appears that the hood/reflector is too big, diffusing too much light inside. Did you try just one in the normal center position... would you mind taking a picture?

This is how I'm gonna roll in my seedling/immature veg cab...two of these and I should be fine. White reptile reflectors are perfect fit.
