What's up guys, I currently use a (dirty) CRUSH flask style bong (~16" tall, ~1" diameter drag tube, ~4" diameter base) with a 45° angle multi-slit downstem, attached is a 14(?) member down-tube shower head ash catcher. This ends up making it a "double perc."
I use it for all types of cannibis (except edibles, duh lol). I really like the smoothness and temperature of a well designed water piece, and been looking into better and more practical designs lately.

I value purpose first, aesthetic second. I think that my current solution is "smooth" but have to admit that a "fritted disk" or triple perc with honeycomb levels would be better.
I like my current design but I finally realized the purpose of the bottom & top tubes you see in new dab rigs (I realize not all top "tubes" are "through ways"). With my current design with only a a pathway from ash catcher to -> main chamber being through a top placed hole in the ash catcher, I'm constantly having to re-add, or re-balance the water level in the ash catcher and main bong. After a single rip most water in ash catcher has transferred into main bong making main bong want to "puke" on you as you rip (chamber gets too full and the piece acts like a huge straw). The bottom placed connection tube ensures "auto-leveling." Also, the 90° joints, dual support connections, and proximity of the connecting parts makes for a more practical and sound design imo.
While worthy imo, im convinced my current rig is par at best, and looking to upgrade a bit.
I've read of a guy microwaving ISO till it boiled and cleaning his fritted disk super easy pouring the iso through the piece, but curious what people had to say..
Fritted disk or honeycomb levels? Why? Thanks!
