That would not be cool. Millions of people that live check to check would be really, really fucked. Competition in currency would be an easy transition to end the Fed, everything redeemed would come off the debt and we would still have a red balance to work on. If you (all of you here) had a choice between an elastic Fed note and an inelastic USNote, which would you honestly choose?
