There can be no ban on gay marriage without government. If we got big brother out of marriage completely, or at the very least, kept their social engineering through the tax code in check, we would never be having this discussion.
The gov made interracial marriage illegal and it took society decades to force it changed, the gov came up with DOMA, it took society decades to force it changed.
