girl guide cookies. 28g bud + 2 cans butane = 8.4g golden oil return. 30% return

Hey guys, came across some bud called girl guide cookies or something like that. small buds, smelled like blue cheese, looked and smelled very potent. I HAD to have it, nicest bud ive seen in years.

bought an oz, chopped it all in the coffee grinder, froze it for 24 hours, along with 2 cans of butane frozen for 24 hours. ran both cans, evapped on hot water twice over half hour. let sit on griddle at 90f overnight, put in vacuum for 6 hours at 120F, weighed in at 8.4G of very golden, tasty, shatter. I am impressed, its all in the bud.

I remember someone else here mentioning girl guide cookes strain of weed... anyone know who?

The extract must be full of waxes and pigments because it's my understanding that if your getting yeilds that high, you would have to be working with cannabis cup winning material and you would still need to let it soak to pickup all the waxes possible for the increased weight.

what contaminants could it be, the bud was frozen for 24 hours in the freezer. I knew right off the bat this stuff was going to be killer. he called it girl scout cookies or something. the last time this guy stopped by his stuff also yielded high 20s. last stuff was called "GSP" (the UFC fighter.... I think) and it was also 28% oil return I believe. pure golden see through shatter. I can get pics, but you all know what gold shatter looks like. no more lung burn than normal. not wax filled. weighed 8.0 on the paper, and I had .2 or .3 on the blade still, as well as about 4 sample hoots so I figure It would be 8.3 or 8.4. I also usually use 3 cans per oz, but I wanted to end the rinse before the material was not "freezer temperature" anymore which I think happened about half ways into the first can so I only used 2 frozen cans this run.

either way, not shenanigans. cant believe none of you have seen high 20s before... maybe I chop my material more than you. I dont do large amounts but I just HAD to have a half lb of this stuff... when it arrives ill show you guys some pics. small white/dark green leafed buds, the oz was small, smelled like green cheese. finally something that isnt kush for once!

keep in mind this is non winterized weight, but after vacuum.

the half lb he is saying will be 1400$ CDN, so 1200$ USD.

Man not to brag but I grow some pretty strong bud and low 20's is the best return I ever get.

What is called for is a common yardstick. We have to be measuring the same thing.

The best Absolute witnessed by two of us'ns was 28.1%, so it would have been over 30% before dewaxing.

It wasn't ours, but was grown by an associate outdoors, and SPR extracted, winterized, and formulated it for him as a right hand washing the left favor.

I seldom see higher than 25% Absolute from indoor plants, and never have our own grows, but consider that the bud he supplied for us to extract, had already been cured and beautifully manicured, so there was less water and less leaf material right out of the gate.

We typically extract about a week after hanging, and extract the buds and sugar trim together, unless we are going for bragging rights, in which case we stack the deck and cherry pick.

i just ran a strain that pulled 26.88 percent

yes anything above 20% . is full of waxes usually.. honestly.. ive never seen a strain come out after winterized over 20%.. never.

but then again.. i have yet to run lots of nug runs.. only like 10-20.. and it was never with the best of the best either..

Most of our stuff does get winterized and goes into oral and topical medications, and we routinely average over 20% with our high THC strains, after the waxes are removed. Our high CBD strains yield closer to 18% after winterization, so strain important.

oh this was a nug run alright, probably the nicest buds ive seen in the last 2 or 3 years. I am keeping in touch with him for more on my days off and ill shoot you guys some pics for sure.

this was pure nug, no trim, no leaf, beautifully cured, the smell of the bag was heaven. and yes this is non winterized stuff.

I chopped the material into powder, put into extractor, and set extractor and butane in freezer for 24 hours, shaking the extractor a little every 8 hours.

sprayed 2 cans as quick as I could.

I believe that half ways through the first can, the freezing of the extractor was now pointless. butane still nice and frozen though.

others here say that when they freeze the material, then winterize those batches, they notice significantly less waxes in the filter after winterizing a "frozen material" BHO run.

this stuff is def smooth... I find myself taking very large hoots, like I do with winterized stuff... due to less lung burn which is what stops me from taking big hoots in the first place.

I am going to do another run with this. this time I will use 100 grams and pre weigh and document everything. I am not confident in hitting 30 again, but I bet I can get 27% or higher for sure.

are you in the CO area?

I stopped freezing the butane for open ended extraction. It took a lot more butane to completely strip the resin and the cans flowed very slow.

nah im up north in the northeast.. i havent seen high numbers i believe because ive yet to do a entire COLA RUN.. or plant run.. i usually just take the stuff that i dont feel like trimming smaller buds.. or just pain in the ass strains..

but i will keep saying it.. i have yet to run all the finest buds.. for the reasons stated above an because most of the people i deal with are really medical.. and think that vaping oils arent good for you . so i dont push it down there throats.. just make it for myself.. and a few others

but what strains are you guys seeing these big yields from.. id really like someone to make a log of this.. so i can get my hands on a few clones to strictly grow for bho..

i got my hands on that GG4.. and a few other beautiful plants.. i am going to dedicate.. a full plant to bho. of each strain next run. to test each strain to see what yields wat.

but people need to realize also. that every grower is going to have different results.. even with the same temps humidity.. nutes and clones.. something will be different..
growing buds is fun. but its deff work.. especially trimming.. and making bho..

but big yields that these guys brag about.. are just that.. they are going for bragging rights.. so they do the best of the best nugs.. or JUST LIE about what they yield. lol.. i dont bother lieing.. if im hitting 10% on trim.. im hitting 10% lol..

i have hit some high numbers that i have went back and checked my math 3 times to make sure it was right.... but the only time i hit above 25% is with killer flower
