Hmm, try and see if you can find the same light bulb at the store and check the packaging. I don't know too much about lights (only a little about HPS lights, thats all) Once you track down what brand it is, getting info on it is as simple as looking it up...

It looks to me like an incadescent bulb which are not very good for growing plants.

If it has a hot wire inside like a regular light bulb it is incadescent.

It basically uses heat to create light.

It makes more heat than light.

Ya I agree, there too hot. You can use it as supplementary... I guess, but never try that thing solo. You would have to place it far enough not to burn, and at that point you'd lose most your light.

Someone earlier in the thread had said to look for lights in the 6500 range, I dont know if that is in hertz or watts or what, but its somewhere in this thread. ALso, they had mentioned to look for the word 'daylight' on the package, so I assume this is a light that is supposed to mimic natural light in some way, maybe by spectrum? What you are trying to accomplish, or I am trying to accomplish, or anyone, for that matter, with artificial light and growing is mimicking the sun. The best way is to use metal halide or HPS lights, because they get closest to the spectrums of sunlight needed for growing (that's why there is sometimes a yellow tinge to peoples grow room pics, cause the light is yellow, not 'white'). I think flourescents get close too, if you want to use an inexpensive smaller set-up, which is perfect for 1 plant. You said earlier someone was going to help you pay for a light, so, if thats the case, try and spring for that 150, as that will be great for a few little plants, not to high, but high enough to get some decent buds, maybe an ounce of some really good smoke, if you are lucky... You really want a 400W light if you want a decent closet setup though, but, Im getting off subject. FLourescents are the long lights that are usually in your kitchen, or at fast food restaraunts... They also are the new little twisty bulbs that are more expensive than the regular bulbs, but, I think you knew that. Just find someone on here that uses them, and see what kind of setup they use, and try to set yours up accordingly. Light is the most important thing for your plant when growing indoors... After securing the light source, then its concentrating on temperature... 60-80 degrees F, with 75 being ideal. Even 70 is good, and then, once that is taken care of, you can work on adding nuted and stuff like that... CO2, etc. Hope some of this BS helps and Im not just confusing you more or something...

Three days should be fine. Make sure you water before you leave... And, if you can get someone to check in on day two, and see if you need water, that would be ok.. I usually skip a day of watering at least once a week just to toughen up my plants...

i had a fan on it before to strengthen it but all it ended up doing is making it a lot worse

i use a lamp of 20 LED lights on it which had great results so far, and i use miracle gro potting soil

what nutrients should i buy though
I'm tying to think of a harder way to successfully grow buds than with LEDs and Miracle Grow potting soil...

Well, she's been through a lot in this thread, but that was when she first started out. She's got a couple CFL's on it now, I believe.. But yeah, I guess that miracle gro shit is no joke...

; )thanks.

i dont know whether to take a clone from it or not though i keep debating it

three nodes down from the top. What do you have to clone with? You have any cloning powder or gel? Some place to keep it nice and humid. Clones normally take a couple weeks to stabilize and build their root system. So keep in mind if you do take clones that it's still going to take about a month or so to show its sex.

sooo i finally did my first clone
here's some pictures

i used the growfaqs found on RIU... first i read one of the faqs a bunch of times so i could understand it well then i read the root scarification

i set up a nice lil clone tank that is really a 10 gallon empty fish tank with a nice cool white light i used for my iguana when i had one and so then i got an opaque cup and filled it with water and when wrapped saran wrap around the top and cut a tiny hole for the stem and then i looked at the plant and i decided to cut it from the main branch because it was one of the tops that were at the bottom.

i cut it with a scalpel and then left it in the water for a few minutes then took it out again quickly made the scarification and now it's back in there...

i put a cup of water in there to add some humidity : )

can't wait to put it to 12/12
