Hah, I have concluded that for my mid-life crisis i'm going to Europe with friends, enjoying all the awesomeness of Amsterdam, and then hitting up the Audubon with my rental Ferrari. Cant wait ha. HAVE FUN! Let us know about all your crazy stories.

dude i wish you best of the luck man. and yeah smoke as much as u can man and everytime you see a cop light up a big blunt and just walk up to him and ask him questions lol any and every type of question u can come up with lol that would be the best thing to do in amsterdam man having a conversation with a cop while ur blowing up all ur smoke on his face lol ...

I arrived in Amsterdam actually approximately 1 hour ago, so far I didn't smell anything special in the local air! LOL
Boy, was I lucky, first guy who picked me up while hitch-hiking this morning was making it possible for me to reach about 3/4's of my way in one stretch. Also, Dutch people are significantly more polite and friendly than most Germans I know, also many males look like impersonators of Ned Flanders.
I'll go discover the city tomorrow, right now I'm just too fucking tired.

Good luck, you'll love it there.. just make sure you find your hotel BEFORE visting the Coffee shops.. which I did.. got completely blazed on WW and was roaming the streets of the Dam looking like a headless chicken for hours :-/

LoL yeah one day I thought I was so clever and had the layout figured out....Went for what I planed to be like a half hour walk ended up being 3 hours after some NL lol best bet flag down a bicycle taxi If you get lost :P

You're gonna love it! I wish I could go back, i'd live there if I had the money. Its my dream city! Bikes, mary jane, and some very friendly locals!

I've returned yesterday, it was awesome! I will surely give the city another visit in next fall or so, every myth or rumor about Amsterdam is true and even sometimes underestimating, I found. Also, the locals are really very friendly, they don't give you a hard time when you're asking for the right directions while being stoned, they just smile and understand.

Yes the Dutch are very tolerant & welcoming, glad you had a good time.. about time I went again it's been a few years now :(

In my case it's even ironic, since I'm living just next to the Netherlands. That's at least one good reason to live in Germany, albeit I didn't realize it until very recently. :(

Im going to Europe in general next summer. i Cant wait. im gonna be going to be staying in germany then going straight to Amsterdam. Then to other surrounding countries. Did you get over to Barneys cafe? Any stories for us? Crazy how you hitchd hiked.
