Well.... I happen to LOVE the smell of a fishroom, there is really and truly nothing in the world like being a gigantic room with several hundred tanks (each and every one plumbed by yours truly). I also enjoy cleaning out foam fractionators, again, because of the smell.

In any event, your reason #1 is sufficient reason for me. I think that a person can and should be allowed to hurt themselves any way they choose so long as it doesn't affect or harm anyone else, and I include other higher organisms in that. Goldfish are actually pretty smart, considering they're goldfish.

I said nothing about smells. I have an aquarium aswell and dont mind the smell at all. It dosent really smell like fish any way.

No you didn't, but the majority of what we taste is directly influenced by smell, thusly, my extrapolation. Seems that more than a few people are fishgeeks around here, maybe I'll start a thread.

I've never smelled a fish tank that smelled fishy. And dead run never smells like the end of the pier, it smells like the worst bad breath you could possibly imagine.
