Hey, I keep on checking your thread and almost every second post you say that pictures are comming
) and now you cant post it anymore??
man what kind of excuse is this? Let me share my way of posting pictures that never fails me.
first make sure your browser is updated, it's not internet explorer and you do not have active adblock addons installed which blocks pop ups.
1. open your photos with paint or gimp or photoshop whatever you use, cut important part of a picture and make new pic.
2. scale your picture down to 800x800 ( I always try to make them 800x800 800x600 or 600x800). it does not have to be exactly those numbers but its better when they are equal or bellow.
3. save them as jpeg
4. follow the pictures
haha that said, lets get back to hps question.
Man I am really happy getting 150w hps. If you can, invest. I think if you will keep ballast out of the grow place temps will not rise that much as you expect after reading all those forums. for me 2x 80cm computer fans, one blowing to the lamp another taking out the heat and my plant tops does not show heat stress if they get like 3 inches away from lamp.. Please note that two computer fans is nothing, I do not have any other fan for circulating the air in my grow room. I keep ballast in the same room I grow, by the end of the day I cannot touch that thing with bare hands and still I do not see any noticeable change in temp and I had before 140W in total of cfl.
I had so many problems putting lights as close to the plant as possible so it could get more and now it became so much easier
and all those lumens you get extra... gosh.. for you switching from that many cfls I guess you won't even see the difference.. Actually I am growing with 1x 150W hps and 2x 25W 6500K cfl. The only problem with this setup is that plants grows way better than it used to
With this lamp and my grow room I will never veg for 7 weeks again
about ph meter.. it is convenient, but I would not be that much paranoid about as I used to be in the beginning. EC and pH are taking very big part in hydro, but in soil.. 6.2-7pH should be ok. And to get to this pH you don't need expensive pH meter, for me simple pH test drops does the job.. Unless you have problems seeing colors
)
about fan. it depends what fan you have, desk fan, or pc fan. for pc fan I would just get an adjustable resistor for a dollar or so, cut one of the wires and insert it in the electrical circuit, but if you are not very much familiar with electricity, then it might be easier to get one.
btw, what's exact parameters of your grow area? sorry if u mentioned that earlier
