the 12 spot power strip+ cheap outlet-to-socket adapters i linked above is a quick and dirty solution
buying actual plastic ceiling mount lightbulb sockets and wiring them up on a piece of plywood is cheaper but more labor intensive
the $7 led t8 bulbs all over ebay are prob another great cost effective option. those are like 2100 lumens for $7 and nice uniform coverage though you may have to stack them up tough to get it bright enough
good option if like me you have a basement full of dead t12 shop light fixtures (t8 and t12 use same ends and youre bypassing the (likely dead cheap ass inefficient magnetic) ballast so it doesnt matter)
