Im starting to like the idea of a tent, just use it outside the closet and that way i can use a cool tube and vent it into an air conditioned space.
Im renting so i dont want to cut holes in doors or replace doors because im outta here soon.

exactly dude.. u said you live alone right???? so really theres no reason for you to even worry about stealthiness( smell, light leaks etc).. if i were you id take full advantage of all that space.. your on the right track though , your using your head. good luck man

I use my closet for mothers and soon her hopefully a MINI SOG but I took the doors straight off and use black white poly with a zipper and one of my patent slurpee cup exhaust vents.

My plan is to go with a six inch cool tube with a 6 inch inline fan prewired for 120V. that should take alot of the heat out of the tent.
I will use the closet to run my CFL's and make a vegging area. use the tent for flowering.

Grow Tent - Size L 56 x 56 x 78 - Silver Lined

Will a 6 inch cool tube work for this tent?

Yes a 6" cool tube will work but you should get at least a 600w HID for a tent that size or even a 1000w. and either way you'll need exhust fans too.

Id like to keep my electricity cool just in case of law issues. So im going to stick with the 400w ill just downsize the tent.
Ill continue to shop. any suggestions on the size of a tent for a 400w?

40”x40”x78” tent for 159, i think its perfect for a 400w light. Its a large tent but i have a whole bedroom to use so thats not a problem.

Its from HTG supply.

My only concern are the conectors and and material on some of the tents. I'm not sure of the good brands. do some looking, maybe someone here will add more.

Yeah im basing this possible purchase off of HTG's rep with the growing boards.. Im still open to ideas. I just know i have to limit it to a 400w grow

Why not do it PapaBear style and build your own tent? Your quality is only limited to your supplys and handywork then.

To be completely honest im not that handy of a guy. i can do basic things around the home but id rather buy the tent

In that case worthwhile investment, research brands thoroughly though some tent companies use shoddy imported parts of less than reputable asian suppliers. It's an important investment you don't want a rip or a zipper break or GOD FORBID frame decay or stress bends in the frame in the middle of a grow.

You have brought up some good points, i will research the tents and make a decision on that.
I really like htg's tent so far, its the best ive seen so far for the money.

Well an update, ive emailed htg and asked for a discount or break on shipping. im planning to spend quite a bit on a complete tent with ventilation and cool tube.. figure it cant hurt to ask..

good luck with the tent dude. i was toying with the same idea for months until i finally decided that i already had pretty much everything i needed, but i just had to enclose my grow and vent it, so i bought a $7 uhaul box lol. then i had to spend another $100 on fans and other stuff lol, but the point is, it was nowhere near what these guys are charging for the whole setup... but, on the other hand, the tents do look nice. and brand sounds ok to me. i would maybe get just the tent for around $100, and order the other things separately, or use things you have, you'll save a lot.

I love me a good cardboard box grow, but a quality tent can last for years and be moved much more easily if you move or if you need to do a SUDDEN teardown...

New Mylar Reflective 48" X 48" X 78" Hydroponics Grow Tent Hydro Box Hut Cabinet

with a six inch 240 cfm inline fan attached to a 19 inch cool tube supplying my flowering needs with 400w hps.
should i go with a six inch inline fan for the growth chamber exhaust? I can place it up high and use passive intakes plus a clip on 6 inch fan (might need two for this big boy)

I found a great deal on amazon and im saving about 300 dollars so far for most of the same gear. i dont want to ship soil neways. Ill buy some locally at home depot or walmart.
