To me its about quality, not quantity.. Im not trying to fill a house and sell 100pounds a month.. I want the stankiest, stickiest buds around, for me personally.. Now obviously i want quantity too, but id rather get 100g's of 22% chronic, than 130 of 16%... Thats just me though... A thc test comparison would be awesome after this show..
Cheers

We know COBs get 1.2g/w easy but it takes a skilled grower to get .8g/w from blurple regardless of their umol/s.
pretty sure bm9gas topped 1 gpw in his first run with these same lights

ive def done it with the predecessor to them, solarstorm 220 w/osrams

@MeGaKiLlErMaN hmm I see.

Well, regarding efficiency, I think we are likely to see more efficiency from COBS than from blurple type LEDS, I could be wrong but I think COBS have a wider application useage and therefore more money to be made from them.
didnt cree take the other bet?

Can you point me in the direction of the grow journals? I've just not seen them I suppose :)

cobby dont roll like that

clw are quality lights though, one of the very few blurples worth a shit
Agreed. Hence me withholding my vote until I looked up the specs of the clw. As stated, haven't flowered under them only veg'd under solar storms and solar flares. Since building my own cob arrays, I've had no reason to "keep up" with premade fixtures. If it were watt for watt wall draw, I'd vote COBs.

there is actually a lot of white in those CLWs - is it enough? we will see!
WTF well that changes things somewhat because I thought it was purely a blue and red (Blurple) fixture and you mention it's uses Osram SSL... Hmmm all of a sudden this is not so clear cut... BM9AGS the title of your poll is kinda misleading:lol:

CLW is just a burple light.. The only quality of that light is cause it was made by CLW?
I already KNOW that the white light is better. I already KNOW that 3590 will kick ass on the CLW, if not in weight (this I don't know) in quallity, no doubt.
K N O W, don't mistake for T H I N K

Sticking round for this, dude - nice one! I have a budmaster panel that uses the osrams. Hit 1.25gpw last round so I rate it! Not used cobs but I do have quantum boards :)

sounds like you think all diodes are the same, which is most certainly not the case. osram ssl have extremely high flux (and their even better horti series just came out and will be in the CLW soon if not already). despite the fact that the light is a 'blurple' it has a full spectrum for plant development

heres what the spectrums look like on that totally tunable light:

despite the fact that its only 1.55 umol/J PAR the colors are centered on the more efficient areas of photosynthetic activity so its YPF is higher. The only problem ive ever had with these is that they are way too intense and will stress plants if run above 40 w/SF. they are solid lights built with great components from a reputable company who stands behind their product and makes almost all of it in america. and i dont sell them so take that as an impartial endorsement. the build quality and features that light has for under $2 watt is a great bargain imo. you know you'll get 5-10 years out of it unlike a chinese blurple with cheap drivers and diodes of unknown origin

Hey I don't wanna argue on this cause I'm way out of my league and I don't think of you this and that and thanks for this info!

hey no worries. theres good blurples and shitty blurples, just as there is good white light and shitty white light. its not the spectrum's fault that the chinese like easy money ;) blurple has a bad rap but it def can perform

whiter light may be better for overall physiology, were still learning, its a complex plant!

Is this competition a GPW or overall yield contest? If it's overall yield of course CLW that's a big deficit to overcome. If it's quality and GPW Cree all the way.
They're all equal strains, from seed tho so not a perfectly controlled test. GPW of course as wattage is different and is cob guys have an obsession with efficiency. Quality last run was pretty identical so we will see this time too. I believe even with the deficit the Cree lights will come out ahead.
