This is my GROW LOG, what am I doing/already done wrong? Suggestions, tips, etc. The seeds have not popped out of the soil yet. Please and thank you. Will update daily, keep checking back

Jan 20- 7pm - seeds put in water to pre soak, seeds were soaked around 36 hours, when taken out they were just starting to open.

Jan 22- 12pm - seeds were planted 1/3inch (maybe a little deeper unfortunately) into soil and watered moderately, they are planted in 5 gallon buckets with no drainage slits on bottom and covered in humidity dome, the soil is "miracle grow potting mix", lights of 400 MH watts was turned on at a distance of 2 feet 6 inches, little ventilation to room, the room is over 80 degrees. The room has no ventilation. The grow space is apron 4 by 3 feet.

Jan 22- 11 pm - seeds were under 400 watts of MH light for approx 11 hours, after a little research I conclude that the light should be significantly reduced, I am now using a 40 watt regular light bulb (non floro) at a distance of 3 feet. I wonder if I should use no light at all? The temp of the grow room is now in the mid 70s. (I do not have a temp gauge or humidity gauge but am considering getting them), I am still using the cling wrap as a humidity dome. Room still has no ventilation.

Jan 23- 10am - Seeds have shown so sighns of breaking through the soil. I am still using a 40 watt regular bulb so as not to over power the plants with the 400 watt MH, although I am now looking for a floro t5 to replace the regular bulb. There is so many ideas on what light to use durring germination Im really not sure which is the best.

Jan- 23 - 7pm - I checked the soil in all my pots (still covered by cling wrap/humidity dome) and I see a fungus or mold, the fungus/mold looks like a small white spider web, it is present in all the pots.

Jan- 24- 12am - No signs of plants popping up, soil is not damp to the touch, but soil is not dry/crusty yet, I am going to water the seedlings now, it has been 36 hours sense last watering.

Jan- 24- 9pm- I am away from my house tonight and the garden will be left unattended until noon tomorrow.

I think your lighting should be really reconsiderd first of all a regular light bulb might not cut it, id get a CFL or a t-5 flour or better if you can and get those babies under it use the 400 when they can handle the heat, and also DONT USE MIRACLE GROW i hear it only causes problem with timed nutes and such but to each his or her own so do what ever you think suits

dude your buckted should have dranage holes or mold can grow causing your plant to get sick and die.. do not use non flor bulbs they are good for noting.. plus you cant flower with MH light you have to have a HPS light you just need a whole new setup:sad:

i agree with the non flour=crap but do you use nutes on top of the MG you used in the flowering of your pic? also i know its off tpoic but it is true they have started outlawing certain drugs in amsterdam because they moved the UN ther??

Thanks for the info everyone! and about the UN/Amsterdam thing, I hope no that would be super lame :(
I will be switching over to floro lighting asap, Im gonna use a soldering Iron to make holes in the bottom of my bucket, and Ill be purchasing a HPS bulb for flowering, Im using the MH now because I heard it is better for the vegetative state, should I not do that? Is that stress on the plant to change the spectrum of light from mostly blue of the MH to the mostly red of the HPS?

be sure when using MG soil it can dry pretty quickly so that dont happen that is a type of mold and make sure to remove all large chunks of wood out of the soil mix.. plus you dont even need MH to veg using about 5 or 6 23watt = 100 watt CFLs that will save on your power bill plus it will help keep you off the charts

Will using one 400 watt MH light put me on the charts? The pigs are gonna realize with just one 400 watt light on a 12 12 cycle????

well for one a 400 watt MD cant be used for flowering only a HPS light be used for flowering and yes it will make your bill jump up around 50 75 bucks and this will trigger the power company to investagate

Jan- 25- 1pm- I am watering the plants now, sparingly, I should not that the 5 gallon bucket the seeds are in have not ever been soaked, I only moderatly water the area around the seed, as In I keep the area where the seed is moist to the touch. I am turning the lights off for awhile.

Jan- 25- 10pm- The lights have been off for 9 hours, Im turning them on now. The seeds have been in the ground 3 days and 10 hours, seeds have not broken the surface.
