Yes, I just put 7 new seeds into a cup of water, going to let sit for 12 hours, and set them in a paper towel.

Going to put them in some small little things.

Would the 130 CFL watts be to much for 2 or 3 seedlings? (If they germinate)

For the cup germination method, how long is it before the seed is supposed to sink?
I read if the seed is useable, it will sink and dead seeds will float.

If they float, is there still a chance of germination?

3 of the 7 seeds sank to the bottum, I took them all out and placed them into a wet paper towel, next to my play station to keep it warmer.

Hope these suckers germinate!! :D lol

Still havent touched my Afghan Kush seed.

Waiting to get perfect lighting and more experience to make sure the baby grows to produce bud for months. llol

This is how my babies looking today :) lotss of canopy :D lol

I put a sheet of foil right ontop of the CFLs to reflect more of the lighting down. as you can see in the first picture.

When these seeds finally germinate, Im going to veg them for a week, and flip them to flower.

By then, Ill have my new grow room set up :)

4ftx5ft 6ft high. 2x4s as the outline, and a tarp to cover in the 2x4s.

Making my own grow tent for a total of 100$.

Including a 400 watt HPS.

Im going to get one of the two I posted a link about... Probably the second one, since the guy said the firrst one was 50 pounds.... (old basketball court light) hahaha

Im going to Home Depot in a bit to go get some more bug stuff to try to keep the one out side safer. Also going to go see if i can get the light socket adapter things and some Y splitters. wanna see if i can add atleast four more lights.

3 of the 7 seeds germinated, one with an inch long tap root....
Planted them into 2-4 liter pots and got em sitting in the sun.

I have on question.... will 50 watts of CFL be too much to throw onto the seedlings?

my gf when i first started out trying to get away from cfls got a 600w batwing off ebay for 120. came with mh/hps bulbs and a switchable digitial ballast batwing reflector.
i have 4 1k aircooled hoods
but atm im running that 600 and shes still working beautifully almost 2 years later.
screw the ghetto floodlight setup and mag ballast
just shop on ebay a bit
check out my journal you can see the light

Only thing wrong with that is, im on a VERYY limited budget. So, ill be happy with any upgrades I can get. But I wont leave the CFLs, I will DEFINITELY be keeping them. Plus what ever upgrade I get.

I think cool night temps and just the right conditions in general brought colors out in all of em

I noticed a few tips seemed to have been burnt. I assumed it was due to the light, they did look a little close.

I now have them sitting outside in the sun light. 3 seedlings and a month old plant.

Going to veg them all in a week.

Is this good enough to ensure my three seeds dont get to much light? they are getting two 23 watt bulbs, directly.
the other 5 bulbs are blocked off by the sheet of aluminum, should it be ok?

Lots of light is good it'll prevent early stretching...you can find some good deals online, just keep an eye open

Cool, thanks for the heads up.

One of my other seeds popped today :)) Im going to plant it tomorrow morning, since theres only an hour and half left of lights on today.

Im supposed to be getting my taxes monday, as soon as I get them, im heading to home depot, get 1 2x4 6ft long, 1 2x5 5ft long, 1 2x4 4 ft long

Im going to have 4 foot wide, 6 foot long, 5 foot high grow box.

Im going to buy Some kind of tarp to throw over the 2x4s and nail them in.
