Growing with big pot..

I still consider myself a newbie when it comes to growing, I’ve only had 5 grows before I wanted to grow a bigger plant.

So about 9 weeks ago I pop’d a northern lights #5 and started to grow her out.

I had a little make shift tent which was shy of 2x3, but then the wife started complaining about the smell so got myself a 3x3 tent and I’m still learning the in and outs of growing in a tent.

Well last night after giving her 24 hours of darkness I flipped her to 12/12.

She’s running under four vero 29 cob’s (290watts) but started under two QB288 boards, I’m thinking of moving those in there too.. we’ll see.

Anyway I’m pretty happy with her and her 1” base..., she did have some nitrogen deficiencies with a little light burn so there are some yellow tips but it’s under control now.

In the pictures you’ll see her in the 1 gal pot, then moved right to a 15 gal pot.

I could have gone to a 5 gal, don’t ask me why I just went straight to 15. Lol

And finally in her new 3x3 home.

Anyway just wanted to share my big girl.

Good move on the 15, you won't regret it.
I've grown indoors in 25 gal. Another grower I know insisted I was a fool. No need to go that big he says....
After the second run that way, of pulling 20+ oz out of a 3x4 with 440w of good LED, he finally conceded I know what I'm doing.
Watering big pots can be challenging. Easy to over do it.
You'll do fine, and that darling will reward you with massive nuggets of goodness.

I was going to hoop in to a 20 but wasn’t sure about space, as it is and I know the NL5 can get tall I’m worried about height.

Which is why I may end up taking the Vero’s out. I have two QB boards on order with the new Samsung LM301H with red leds.
I just don’t want to compromise light intensity for space.

I also picked up some advanced nutrients bud igniter to see if it helps flip them into flower quicker in the hopes that they don’t get too tall. We’ll see how that plays out.

So did the 3X3 give Ya enough room to add a carbon filter inside and eliminate that smell? If so what brand Ya use?

I had a Vivosun 4x12 which I wasn’t really using that I managed to put up top, but I’m thinking it will either get moved down or outside the tent if she keeps growing the way she has.

That's an off brand. Give it a try I guess. My thought is you'll be very dissapointed and once you've got yourself s Phresh brand one, you'll see just how great they can actually work.

I’ve heard good things about Phresh.

However yesterday I was questioning my filter and reached out to Vivosun and it’s been almost a year to day since I bought it and they offered me a refund so I can order a new one of amazon, their in China so it would work faster for shipping and their over all cost. But that aside they cost $36 for their 4x12, even if I had to replace it yearly, it’s more cost effective then Phresh which run $110 and may last two years.

Not sure you understand how well a GOOD brand filter actually does the job though
