I love this idea. A couple weeks back I was thinking about whether this would work or not. Then I jumped back on RIU and here it is!

So many possible benefits.

Heck yes man!!! Good to see its working out. Post up specs on your space size, how many lights, etc. looks like you have it pretty well set up for a first run.

You should take the concaved light director in a flashlight or floodlight and place it right over the light to direct it down. This could give you many more lumens on the plants.

Sorry, forgot to post an update. I harvested successfully and got a little bit less than an ounce or so - I don't have a scale. It was some really good stuff My closet size was 2x2x6 ft. I've moved and am starting a small greenhouse outdoor grow next. The HIDs worked like magic though! I agree that some reflectors would have improved the output.

This is exactly the thread I was looking for. I have a small Rubermaid and am fearful of the thigh power HPS grow lights... I also have oh 10 or so power supplies around.
