growing with kids in the same house

So lately a couple extra people have noticed the aroma coming from my home. I use a carbon filter in my flower tent but not in veg or the dark space I hang them... so needless to say I still get a bit of smell... my girlfriend is starting to get super paranoid that the neighbors could call cps and our kids be taken away... no plant material is in an area unlocked and all finished goods are in a space neither kid can get to in my bedroom (1 and 3 years old) so do I have anything to worry about?
 
Even as patients we always have to worry until the FED back off. I wish I knew more about the legalities man, sorry. Can you get a carbon scrubber to help reduce smell?

Im wondering how to incorporate one into my veg room. I dont ventilate it at all because it doesnt need it. I need like an air purifier in there that has a carbon filter. Any ideas? I moved my dry-hang box into the veg room so I can knock off 2 birds with 1 stone.. I need a new filter for the flower room too as iv noticed it doesnt work as well as it should...

But I just need to know if cps can do anything since im 100% legal by the state and within my limits.. is cps federal?
 
if you get federal assistince for anything i would think about that kind of stuff. like food stamps or houseing ya know? good luck
 
Ahh incense. Yea iv thought about that. But the smell is at the front door even before its opened. Dont think incense will take care of that
 
Cps can do whatever they want. Do not let them in no matter what. U supposedly have section 4i rights. Don't bet your children on it. You do not have to cooperate with CPS. Fuckin Nazi SS!!!
 
ya CPS is a bad day no matter what.

your best bet is to get a filter and set it on its butt so the open end is sticking up. set a fan on it and plug it in! you can either suck down through the fan into the filter or pull through the filter out through the fan. i go back and forth to keep mine alive longer. if your filter ever gets tired hook it up so your pumping all the hot air from your lights into it and "Recharge" the carbon. I've got one with the same carbon now that I've been running for 3 years hard and its still working at about 60%.

when i first got it you couldn't stink up the bathroom after a chili eating contest let alone with plants. now not so much, i run a second small one just to make sure but the just running the filter in the room like that has always done me good. ALOT of CFM getting scrubbed every minute that way
 
So just by making the airflow of the room enter the filter it wilk take away the smell? Hmm.. as for my current one, I have it on the intake of the fan so maybe I can switch that to the exit and it will "recharge" it as you say... I think my plan is to buy a brand new one for the flower room, then take my one currently in there plus the extra smaller 4in one I have and throw both of them under fans in the veg room.. I really don't see us having a problem but just the thought of cps messing with my kids gets my blood boiling
 
i got one of these from this same site http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA0PB0HF5959 besides the slightly dusty carbon its worked great. make sure to blow it out before you use it. newegg has a couple bigger/smaller ones too if you need a different size.

and yea i forget the math but something like as long as the whole room gets scrubbed every 10 minutes or whatever your good to go, it should work.

they even have some new inline filters if you really wanna go the extra mile and stick one on all your exhausts.

i feel ya brother. i pull out my hair making sure i got a tight ship. I've seen a few people have run ins tho and it always ends positive if they have their shit together. there is hope if you work at it.
 
NP, ya HTG is uber cheap, i got one of my tents there. I've never priced out there filters but i bet they'd be real close.

little happy story that helps me sleep at night for all the parents out there

an old boss of mine had a crazy ex that sent the cops and CPS over there more times then i can remember. he had state boys, counties, locals, CPS officials from all over. basically anyone this crazy bitch could get to be shocked and want to go investigate DID and left smiling. he kept everything legit and legal and locked up and it always went his way. the police really never cared. they only ever wanted to see cards then they left. as far as he told me they never even counted plants. CPS tho did some interviewing and all that good stuff and he was good to go. this was before the "No one in the garden without a card" rule and he flat out told the CPS people he was teaching his son how to grow. said it was a trade that will help him someday. the kid said it was fun and he loved learning about plants. CPS apparently was very happy and quit bugging him... i haven't spoken to him in a very long time but i saw him drive by a couple weeks ago with his son in the passenger seat so he's still winning the fight!
 
Im not suggesting anything with that story either lol, just an extreme example that went our way.

Of course! How did you think they work? Blowing air through the opposite way won't recharge it. Heating it will, but not all that much. And all it does is release the smell back into the air. I think you're just going to have to get used to spending more on filters. Even if you are in your limits, there may be a prohibition on growing or using in the presence of children. Check your local laws. In many areas, growing or selling with 1000 ft of a school, church, or childcare center gets you a much longer sentence.

The filter I bought at HTG wasn't very good. It gave out shortly after I started flowering. To be fair, the salesman told me I should buy the more expensive brand name. I can understand your concern. The possibility of losing your children would be enough to make me quit altogether.
 
Well I just didnt figure theyd eliminate the smell of the room the plants are in. I only use one on my exhaust port for my light currently, so it only filters the air leaving the room which is far easier than filtering an entire room without directly forcing all if the air through it..... hope that made sense
 
I use a scrubber in tent and bathroom where I veg/dry and vent both out of my bathroom vent in the ceiling and out my roof and it works great.
