Glad you stopped by and I hope you and your family are doing well.

Well after I started the seedlings in the small pots I was using 2 types of potting soil. The G & B and Promix BX. Both are good. The Promix is a peat based potting soil with mycorrrhizae and a little perlite. The B&G is more coarse blend with alot of ammendments (see second pic of label) added. The B&G seemed a little hot for the clones at first so I used the Pro Mix for the seedlings.

When I started to water the seedlings and clones I noticed the G&B had good flow through which meant there was alot of O2 getting to the roots whereas the promix tended to retain water for longer. So I decided to mix the 2 types when I made the super soil. THe final ingredients were as follows:

15 cuft (9 cuft G&B Compost, 3.8 cuft Promix, 2 cuft G&B Potting soil)
40 lbs pure worm castings
5 lbs blood meal
5 lbs bone meal
5 lbs bloom bat guano
3 lbs rock phosphate
1/2 c sweet lime (dolomite)
1/2 c azomite (trace elements)
1/2 c powdered humic acid
50 lbs chicken manure
2 c kelp meal
60 lb bag of pumice rock (instead of perlite

That is in the pics yesterday and was used to fill the 20 gal pots 1/2 way. THe second half was composed of a less suped up soil made of the following:

16 cuft (6 cuft G&B Compost, 3.8 cuft Promix, 6 cuft G&B Potting soil)
40 lbs pure worm castings
2 c kelp meal
1/2 c powdered humic acid
1/2 c azomite (trace elements)
60 lb bag of pumice rock (instead of perlite

The mix was placed in each 20 gal pot 2 shovels the lightly mixed with the hotter super soil. This is the intermediate zone before the top layer which was just the mix above. I filled the 12- 20 gal pots and 8- 5 gal pots for the smaller pots.

The reason for the smaller pots is quantities. I am planning for 50 % males so I will end up with about 10 femals. If this ratio holds out I will clone 2 so I have a total of 12 to grow to maturity. If I find a good male I will save him and harvest his seed for those special ladies.

I planned to put the 4 flowering clones (2 WCF and 2 G13) into those smaller pots too. They will start getting bloom formula to help them complete flowering. Would of loved to see the WCF and G 13 outside. THey smell amazing I can only imagine what they would of looked and smelled like full grown.

I got all the pots filled and placed in the yard and realized those pots arent exactly light. I decided to do what Ive been talking about and get the trees trimmed next week. Had one guy over and have another coming monday. Will be done by Wed. Then the sun will shine in on the yard and I will not have to move the plants for optimal sun. My body hurts from all that shoveling but it was fun while I was doing it. Should of worn my back belt. I will put that in my "Things Ive learned for next time" file.

I think you can get them for about $100. Check out CANORMAL site and they have lists of Drs by the county. Make sure you read prop. 420 and 215 to see what the law says. Also your county may have some special issues with quantities so check there too.

i know wat u mean about pain while diggin haha. bak is prob worse to deal with then my knees but my sympathy to u and the hard work GT. glad to hear u finally get the trees trimmed too. especially before ur garden really takes off and a lil hard to ignore.

and about the ghetto bird question i wouldnt ever worry about the cops using that in suburb areas to discover bud plants. especially in a bakyard that has veg. plus us medicinal patients are cover by the prop like GT said but large outdoor grows in fields etc are more likely to be found by helis. just my 2 cents lol

I will only have 12 growing when I get all plants sexed. Im still waiting for them to show but it will prob be a couple of weeks. Almost like waiting for your balls to drop and voice to change, you just never know when it will happen.

Once the trees are trimmed I will post pics of the trans plant process and final pots. I will water with a little superthrive before I transplant to lessen the shock.

In retrospect I should of planted them sooner but even moreso, I should have planted them in tall 1-gal pots. I dont think they are bothered by the small pots but if it wernt overcast everyday the small pots would dry out faster requiring more watering. Also, if we would of had sun they would be 3 ft tall.

I have seen a few aphids but not alot. I think they must not like these plants all that much. I have been looking into some certified organic insecticide called Green Light Lawn and Garden with Spinosad. The spinosad is suppose to be the new organic stuff on the market that works like BT to kill thrips, aphids, catapillers and a number of other pests. It comes in pints and is enough concentrate to make 8-gal for around $12. Not bad! The recommended wait time after spraying tomatos is . . . 1 day.

Plants are doing really well and are about 16" to 2 ft tall. Stay tuned :blsmoke:

i like ur ball dropping analogy GT haha. let me know wat u find with that organic pest spray works or is a good investment ill have to check into it. im using the neem oil for now but not sure if itll repel all pests

Neem oil repels harmful insects like white flies, Japanese beetles, moth larvae, scale, gnats, aphids, mites, and weevils, as well as strengthening the crops against rust, scab, mildew, and blight.

Neem oil makes the plants it touches taste bitter, so pests won't eat them, as a "contact" insecticide. The active ingredient in Neem oil, Azadirachtin, also interrupts insects' transitions between different stages of metamorphosis, such as growing from larvae to pupae. It prevents insects from developing a hardened exoskeleton. When the chemical gets absorbed through the roots of crops, it functions as a "systemic insecticide." That means crops don't need to be constantly re-sprayed.

The greatest benefit of using neem oil is that it doesn't harm beneficial insects. Butterflies, earthworms, and bees all help plants pollinate or absorb nutrients. Lacewings eat insects trying to feed on the crops. But these bugs won't have a negative reaction to neem oil or azadirachtin.

According to the people who sell the neem oil product mix Neem Oil (100%) at the rate of 2 tablespoons (1 ounce) per gallon of water. Add 2 tablespoons of liquid dish soap. Thoroughly mix solution and spray all plant surfaces (including undersides of leaves) and the soil until completely wet.

Do you really like O.C. Farm Supply, when I went in there, they treated me like shit. There is actualyl a great hydro shop (has soils to) on Glassell and Meats, you should check it out.

Interesting. Had the trees trimmed and was happy that I had a brighter backyard now and good area to grow. The only problem is the tree trimers left one large pine tree 3/4 done with all the branches on the ground. They told me they would be back Fri but didnt show. I called this AM to find out when they were coming back and the guy said Mon.

I had put the plants in the garage for fri expecting them to show up with an army like on thurs. After the call today I fertilized them and put them in the yard for hazy sun at best. Weather man said we may see sun by thursday of the upcoming week.

So If by chance they come on Mon I will transplant as soon as they leave and get the pics posted that night.

Well the tree trimmers came and cleaned up their mess so I could do my transplanting.

I wetted all the plants down before transplanting. Most were not so rootbound. I excavated a hole big enough for the pot and tapped the plant and the soil out in one piece. This will lessen transplant shock. I was having difficulty controlling the pot moisture for the larger plants since there were alot of roots and the sun was sporatic. I never knew when it was going to be hot or not so it was difficult to gauge the water requirements.

I took some pics of the repotting and the plants but I will get more tomorrow. I noticed what looked like preflowers on some of the plants but I didnt have my strong glasses on to see what they were. Most didnt have any preflowers showing but I expect some of these to show gender soon.

As I said before the pots are 20-gal and the mix is layered so that the top is potting soil with worm castings and some ammendments but nothing hot like manure or blood meal. The middle is a mix of the top section and the bottom layer (intermediate zone for acclimation) and the bottom is the hot zone with all the ingredients a few pages back.

Now if the sun cooperates we wil see some growth spurts.

I can tell the WC x CC has two distinct phenos but they may be male and female for all I know. One is lanky and the other has a shorter internodal spacing. Both are about the same size (~2 ft). The HJ is prety much the same. Short internodal spacing, fat fan leaves and thick stalks. The JS is as tall as the HJ and WC x CC but has some nice branching too. The JTR is short with much thinner leaves but has the most branching and shortest internodal spacing. The WCDs were the shortest of the crowd but were highly branching with one of the shortest internodal branching of all plants. I dusted the WCF as they were not flowering well and the burnt HJ. RIP. The two G13 continue to flower with swollen calyxs and a skunky smell.

More pics tomorrow.
