THe plants are doing well since the sun has decided to show up for most of the week. I have moved some more plants so they get more sun.
The JS strain seems to be pulling away from the remainder of the other strains. The others are not far behind though.
I have pulled most of the males while I have kept the 2-3 I really like. I go out and pick hanging balls but I think Im going to pull the plants and see if I can get some pollen to fall on a glass table after a few days in water.
The plants are basically being watered and I have really only fertilized them 2 times since the 20 gal pot transfer. I think they look nice and green. The big fan leaves of most are about as big as my hand.
THe WC are really starting to branch now while the JS seem to be branching and getting big. The lone JTR is becoming a bush almost as wide as tall but still short in stature.
My lone HJ girl is trucking right along with short internodal spacing. This is the only plant where the leaves are slightly cupped up. Not sure why.
Since I only had one HJ I decided to make some clones using different starters. I used rockwool, rapidrooters, and Jiffy Pucks. First I got a razor blade and cut some of the lower shoots off the HJ and 2 off a big WC plant (340 note finger for size). Next I removed most of the fan leaves and branches (335) until I had the upper 2 nodes left and the rest of the stem clean (341). I trimmed the remaining fan leaves so none were more than an inch long. I then scrapped the lower inch or so of the stem (343) and placed them into a shallow dish of water pHed and dechlorinated (334). Then I arranged the starters and I got a toothpick to poke some pilot holes in the starters (33
. I put a little Dutch Masters cloning gel (337) in the top of a water bottle cap (339) and one by one removed the starts from the water, cut the stem at a 45 degree angle, dipped it into cloning gel, and plunged it into the prewetted starter(344). Once I was finished I cut some plastic soda bottles and inverted them over the clones for added humidity. I spritz them twice a day. They are floating in the aquarium where the water is at 84 degrees. Lets see which one sports roots first out of the 3 HJ in each type of starter.
Well thats it for now. Let me know what you think.
Here's the line up for tonight:
