I'm a bass fanatic. I love to fish and 95% of my time fishing is spent fishing for bucket mouths. Got home late getting ready to snag less than 3 hours just so I can be on one of the ponds I fish at daybreak. I'm overdue for a big haul...one of those 50 plus hauls. It's been very poor fishing this Spring. We've had tons of rain. We had 12.5 inches in 3 days just a couple of weeks ago. My favorite and most productive pond gets field run off so naturally it was brown. Could barely see an inch below the surface. I'm hoping she's cleared up. It is an absolute gem of a pond. My dick is getting hard just thinking about it lol. April - May is the best time as well here in the Midwest. Although late September and first half of October can be some crazy good fishing.Best time of year to bass fish in the NE imo, caught a 6 lb LM last week and usually do every year from the end of april-may, prespawn and bed fishing, love it! Also I read an article last year that the big females will literally hold up up on sunfish bedding areas waiting for an opportunity, this is a good thing to know.Solid bass there, nice!
I've been fishing for bass for 33 years this year. I've logged in a lot of time working bass. The biggest I've landed is 8 and my goal is a 10 plus. Those are very rare around these parts. I've got a lot of 8s, 7s, 6s, etc. But not a 9 or 10. I'd probably have to mount a 9 if I landed one. And I've had some bass on my line over the years that were that kind of size. Pond I'm hitting in the morning is where I have the biggest one ever on my line. Purple worm rigged up Texas style bouncing off the bottom. He was a beast and I set the hook then went to working the drag scared to death the line would snap at any moment. After about a 10 second fight that line snapped. I was trying to keep tension plus adjust the drag on the top side of my open face and didn't get it done in time. Such is fishing lol. I fucking love fishing and I love the challenge.
A crappie I caught out of it fishing for bass about 4 days ago. You can see how murky the water is.
