I started in rails. I'm looking forward to seeing you knock it out of the park (as usual). How you like being a homeowner? I love that your son is helping so you're able to transfer your knowledge, that's sweet :hug:

If you do have to start from seed use some Rapid Rooter plugs and just stick the plug in the net pot.

I recommend using feminised seeds. That way you won't have to pull any males and kill all the females in the process (the roots all grow together).

No matter what, eventually you will be using only cuttings so I'll start with how to take a cutting or clone as some call them.

I select a lower branch from one of my veg plants. It's way better to use a stem from the lower branches than from the top. The lower branches contain more of the hormones that it takes to start roots.

I use a razor blade to take the cutting. No special treatment here.

I didn't know that, I'd love to see some pics of your old rail systems in action. I love owning my house, I initially wanted to get a mortgage, but it was such a hassle I just decided to buy all cash. Had to do something with that large pile of grow cash, it's almost as if a grew a house ;) It is awesome not to have to pay rent nor a mortgage payment. My kid is great, and appreciates saving thousands upon thousand of hours of study by being my mentee. Hope all is well with you...

I've switched to using a cooler for my cloner a couple of years ago. It's completely water tight (no seal needed) and helps keep water temps in check. The downside is large coolers are expensive. I figure my cloner will last a lifetime so it's worth it in the long run.

This exact cooler is on sale on Amazon for $30. There is a darker blue version of the same model that is closer to $90, wtf? Make sure to order the ocean blue inexpensive version. I bought one to check it out, and just ordered another. Great price for an insulated, leak-free cloner or veg unit...
