iv just seen that shit for the first and i think that movie is awsom. it runs kind of slow but the story line behind the movie is kick ass. can you inmanage being in prison for 10yr for a murder you didnt do and havein to fight off those rapeist but the whole time he`s just playin shit off slowly usein that rock saw to escape through all that shit! and ended up on the beach! i was glad that red was able to make out their with him. i plan on watchin it again only next time i`ll be high i want to see if being high will make the movie seem more dramactic for me or something! so for any of yall who have seen it what did yall think? :peace:

It's my favorite movie. Can sit down and watch it over and over. It does run a little slow, but I find it gets better each time I watch it.

i like the part where hes in the wardens office and the gaurd is taking a shit so he locks the door a plays that old timey record player for the whole court yard to here. that was cool on his part he could had made to where only he could listen to it but he went all out and let everyone here! man that was cool of him! but i think in his mind he was just wanting for everyone to here music period cuz how shut down they were if he would had a cig. he would had lit that up to! :peace:

yeah my favorite part is when they are up on the roof drinking beer and shit, that was possibly the best part for me,imagine being locked up for a crime you didnt commit, getting raped and beat up,just to turn around and make friends with the right people....having the guards beat the dude that raped you into a vegetative state and drinkin a brewsky wit your friends....damn now that i describe it like that its pretty fucked up..good movie still but damn

Any movie adapted from Stephen King is going to be very good with perhaps the exception being "cujo".

Kings movie give you atmosphere and lots of it. Shawshank does plod slowly along, but that's a reflection of prison life.... slow and boring.

The Green Mile is noteworthy and also Delores Claiborne, which is probably my favorite of the three. Cathy Bates is over the top in that film.

The prison was the backdrop for the "real" story of the human condition. The accuracy of the prison is secondary.
