Have a serious question for an expert

I have a question. I would like to try some Kali Mist. Unfortunately I cant grow indoors and there is no way that it will finish in time outside where I live (northern midwest usa) My cousin has a small grow box. The question is if I were to start the plants early and start the flowering proses in his grow box for lets say 35 to 40 days in his grow box could I then transplant them outside in the spring and get them to finish before the frost? ( mid sept.) What type of problems am I looking at?

it would work like a champ but if you dont know when that strain matures then its a toss up,on if you get mature bud or not

if you can throw a black trash bag over the plant after 12 hours of daylight near july or aug, every day,you can get it done for sure, this is only if its in your back yard

As far as sativas go, Kali Mist finishes quickly. You should just grow them outside and harvest right before the first frost. It will still be very potent. Would be nice to keep some clones too, but whatever. You should just man up and get a small cfl under the sink or something.

Check out my grow. ;-)

I think its 10 to 12 week flowering. where I live strains that have a 8 week flowering cycle work fine but I want some dank sativa.

Wish I could but I have kids and 1 is a nosy 15 year old that tells her mom everything and her mom is a vindictive stupid cunt that would love to get my ass thrown in jail. But to answer your question I already have grow lights just cant use them.

Ok, you dont mean start the flowering process right?? you mean, start the plant off, and grow her for 35-40 days right??

If you mean that you wanna flower the plant for 35-40 days before moving her outside, 1-you may as well finish the plant where it is, and 2 - i dont even know really if a flowering plant would be able to survive a transplant from a controlled indoor grow, to potentially harsh outdoor weather - cuz your talking about transplanting in what, like february?? the plant would straight up die dude. way way too cold in the midwest to do somethin like that.

Now, on the other hand, if your talking about straight VEGGING the plant until its ready for the transplant, once again you cant go 35-40 days because the weather is too harsh - but what you could do is veg her for like 3-4 months and then transplant her as soon as it starts to get warm enough to plant a plant. The reason i say as soon as, is because your going to want to catch the VERY VERY beginning of the warmer season, otherwise the plant will just continue to veg all the way through until next fall. Granted, youll end up with a fucking TREE, lol, but do you really wanna wait that long for a harvest? you seem like your pretty eager to get started :D

MY advice to you is, if you have a buddy that will let you start your grow over his place, and if you wanna start it now - then start it, but FINISH it there aswell. Indoors is the only place your gonna have a successful grow at this time of year in the midwest dude. Starting a plant now with the intent to grow outdoors just wouldnt be a smart move man. Sorry for the bad news, and ive been thinkin for a little while now about your question to come up with a way to do it, but i just dont see it happenin.

BUT, lol, if you decide to do an inside grow man, good luck to you, i wish you nothin but the dankiest nugs bro :D

O.... have your buddy keep clones in his rig. Find a quick flowering pheno and you'll be set. You could always make mass F2s and put those out during the spring. Don't worry about earlier harvests bro, it's going to be crazy dank... I promise. ;-) I'd take an 8-week Kali over an 8-week indica any day.

I think you got what I was trying to say mixed up. I know that there is no way this grow could make it outside until at least the middle of may, and it starts getting cold in mid sept. what I was trying to say is could I flower the plant for awhile indoors and move it outdoors in May as his grow box is not large enough for that type of plant.

If you put a flowering plant outside in may it's going to reveg, thus negating the indo effort. You'll need to find out the light schedule @ your latitude and adjust.

Ok I got what your saying about the light adjustment to my latitude, If I make that adjustment will the plants just veg or will they start to bloom? I am not a newbie I have just never tried anything like this.

If you make the adjustment???.... what do you think you'd be adjusting for? I can't help you if you don't understand what you want.

It'll take some experimenting to find out the longest day that will still force your plant to flower, dig? If you can find a pheno that will flower under 14 hours of light, put it out at that time (latitude) if you wanna start them flowering indoors. You see? It's will depend on the plant you choose.

You should have your friend experiment with this. Take it down an hour every 3 weeks or so (depending on the pheno) and when you notice bud formation starting to kick in you have your info.

Not sure I can explain it any better.

New question, what if I veg it for 30 days
(24 hour light cycle) and then put it outside at my latitude in mid May it would have approx. 15 hours of light and 9 hours of darkness. Would this induce flowering?

Depends on the pheno. I doubt you'll find a sativa to flower under those conditions, but nothing is impossible.

For fully mature plants, veg time won't matter. Seedlings will need to be vegged for a few weeks before they have the ability to flower.

Guess its just trial and error from here. Im just stuck cause I bought these seeds thinking I was gonna have a place to grow it just didn't work out the way I hoped.
