I've never understood the obsession with raising the minimum wage. I understand people want more money I'm all for that. You can work your ass off and make way more money independently if you have grind. or stick with that minimum wage job and outwork the people around you and you will move up and make more money. It's just basic survival find your niche and fill it. Take fast food for example I worked those jobs for years when I was younger it sucks it's hot it's is a lot of work but there is no responsibility involved. lmao half the employees either had fentynol patches on or smoked crack during their breaks where i worked and were 100% able to do the job.

You need to lookup the invention of minimum wage. I think half of this site missed all of their schooling.

1 employee at $8/hr for 12hrs is the same as 2 employees at $8/hr for 6 hrs yeah?

Minimum wage will be raised to $15/hr.

You are going to have to pay that regardless by law.

What you are supposed to do with the wage hike is split the hours between more employees.

The problem is that people will open a business and pay minimum wage, get successful and never change wages. Then, 10 years down the line when housing costs have doubled and inflation has worked its magic, your employees are still being paid that initial number even though their cost of living us doubled.

Wow, you said pay twice as many employees double the pay rate for half as long, meaning employee costs double, and then change it to twice as many employees the same pay rate for half as long, and pretend that somehow refuted my statement? Are you fucking retarded?

Say you need 12 hours of work done and minimum wage is $8.

You can have one employee that works all 12 hours or you can have 2 employees working 6 hours each.

Unfortunately in order for an employee to be able to afford to live, they need at least $96/day. Which is all 12 hours.

So, the government instates a minimum wage that is double the current wage you are paying.

Now.

You can pay 2 employees to work 6 hours, and both have enough to live.

Make sense?

The point we are making is this. The problem is there are not enough good paying jobs.

Your solution is to make it tougher on employers to offer jobs and to outright eliminate many of them.

Our solution is for government to back the fuck off and let the market generate the jobs as it should work.

If you get your way it just gets shittier for everyone.

I want more jobs not more unemployment and welfare.

I said the minimum wage is going up whether you like it or not. That is a fact.

Now your option as a business owner is to pay one person twice as much as they made before the wage hike.

Or 2 people the same amount as you did one before it. Also, this gets a lot of business's out of paying benefits and such so it actually saves a good bit of money on non full time employees

You're wrong. My fiancé's dad bought a house by lax in 1979 for $27k. The same track houses in la are now going for between $800k-1.6millon.

Get your facts straight before you start making claims. Do you know every housing market and how it's changed in the pay 40 years? That's a fairly bold statement.

I do, however, know what houses In specific areas where I live cost between then and now.

It's happening whether you like it or not. It's not my idea nor my fault as you seem to be implying. I'm just stating the way that things are happening and options in the inevitable outcome. You can focus as much as you want on how this is going to make your business fail. Or you can try to find ways to make your business work in the economy. Sorry it sucks, but it's not something any of us individually have control over. And obviously more people think it should be going one way than the other. Or we would not be having this discussion.

As technology advances, more jobs are eliminated. When workers demand more than it cost to build a machine to do the job, the employees are replaced. Sad, but a fact.

You keep saying that it is happening whether I want it to or not and I do not know where you are getting that information from. It is currently up for debate.

This is not going to affect me in a business sense, I have no employees and any I did have would be paid far above minimum wage. However, if I am required to pay a minimum of 30,000 per year to someone to just answer my telephone I think that I will not have that kind of income so will have to rely on some sort of automated mechanism. So, there is a 20-25K per year job eliminated immediately from any planning I might do.

That will make expansion from a 1 person to mulitiple person firm more difficult so slower growth for me in a business sense.

Personally it will increase all of my costs as labor will increase across the board. Of course this wont just be for me, it will be for everyone. So, America suddenly has less buying power in addition to inflation. And the situation will deteriorate as there are not new jobs forming in the marketplace.

If you do websites you just gave your customer base a huge kick in the nuts. Not many startups needing your company anymore. Hard to pay people 25-40 per hour with no work.

I think we both want the same thing which is prosperity. You want it forced from the top down and it doesnt work that way.

I live in Los Angeles where most markets are a little different, the housing market especially. I only have a good knowledge base here, as I have never have a fuck What happened with the market in Ohio. lol.

You're really not very smart as I can literally post off Zillow right now what houses cost in my area. And $242k doesn't buy anything. My tiny apartment by the beach when for over a million...

Hold up I'll get some number for you as you seem to think you can get a house for under $300k here.
