The sour cream didn't germinate, so I have LA confidential in the shot glass instead. That looks to like a pretty dank strain as well. And I do plan on transplanting as soon as the stem gets thick enough.
 
I love dogs+ buds hes a great looking dog man. mines 2 in Jan. hes pushing 110Lbs. Do you know his bloodline? looks like a coby to me
 
watch out tho, i've seen dogs just rip a plant straight out of the soil as we looked on in horror. cats will eat the leaves, as well. hows your babies?

Thanks. I don't know his history since I got him from a friend that moved away and couldn't take him. He's a runt at 52 lbs compared to yours. I assume yours is an Ambully, right? 110lbs is way outside of breed standards for an APBT. He's handsome regardless.

He stays away from my plants. Occasionally he'll sniff them but he shows no interest whatsoever in them. He's not a chewer at all, so I'm not worried about him.

Plants are great, thanks for asking! The Afghan Kush has grown three inches in the last 72 hours and is starting to flower pretty good now. One of the bagseeds is flowering now and the other one is right behind it. I'll update with pictures on friday.

Nope, no Ambullies here dude, pure blooded muscle. Hes from the world famous DAGGER bloodline weight pulling champs 3 years running a few years back, checkem out, google -komonstersquad hes the real deal, he will jump over a 6 ft fence and back:) .. Lmao ..standards...well Yao Ming is a little out of asian standards but....

UPDATE 10-31-09

The plants are all progressing very well and have exploded with growth since last update. In the flowering cabinet, both bagseed females have started to flower and look very healthy. The Afghan Kush Ryder grew at least 7 inches since the last update and outgrew the veg cabinet, so it is permanently in the flowering cabinet on 12/12. Hopefully it won't mess with the yield too much but I am not expecting anything huge.

All of my clones rooted and I didn't have enough room for all of them, so I moved two of them to hempy buckets and the other two I am going to fuck around with a shot glass and coffee cup grow. The Easyrider is still being really slow but looks to have started flowering at about 4" in height. WTF? It looks really healthy but is just growing rediculously slow. The AK47 and Afghan Kush were planted on the same day but they look weeks apart in growth.

I am having some problems with nute deficiencies with my mother plant but I can't figure it out. I have looked at the FAQs in the plant problem section but none of the pictures look exactly like my problem. The older leaves are turning yellow and eventually purple but new growth is uninhibited. pH runoff is around 6.0 and the plant is fed grow big every other watering at 1/2 strength. I just bought some epsom salt just in case it is a magnesium deficiency but I hate taking shots in the dark. +rep to anyone who can help solve my problem.

hey man, that garden is looking great! the leaves are showing nitrogen and potentialy phosphorus deficiencies... make sure to flush, it'll help correct it... foxfarm is salty stuff. also, i personally had terrible results using big bloom, it always seems to fuck them up somehow.

do those ones in the mugs have drainage holes? interesting experiment if not.

i see you are growing some in silly putty (jk, thats what perlite looks like in the pic). love it!

Thanks PG. I was hoping you would drop in and share some advice for me. I flushed the mother plant this morning, so hopefully that'll clear up the problems. In terms of nutes, all I am using is Grow Big for veg and Tiger Bloom for flower. I felt the Big Bloom was more for an organic only setup and sort of optional for me since I already have the nutes to grow the plant from start to finish.

No, neither the shot glass nor the coffee mug has drainage holes. I've just got to be very careful not to overwater them. I'm really just fuckin around and having some fun with this, so if they turn out shitty or die, I won't really care. Like I said before, they were just left over clones that i didn't have room for, so this is better than the trashcan.

Yah, I figured I'd experiment with different grow media. I really want to do an aeroponics setup but I just don't have the vertical space, so the hempy buckets are a good compromise between soil and hydro. Hopefully, this will enable the plants to get big and hearty without the large, tall pots.
 
i've always wanted to try a hempy bucket, what ph is it supposed to be at for those?

as to the shot glass + mug, thats pretty cool, i would've used perlite for those... hmmm, you've sparked my interest with the perlite use, maybe time for me to mix it up a bit.

and the leaves probably wont ever recover fully, but sometimes leaves die. it's a sad part of soil growing, but thats what we get for letting the soil communicate our nutrients. aaaaaaaaand... i'm stoned as fucking shit, scraped some hash off my trimmers from the trainwreck.

I'll be around till you are smoking some fine homegrown, :peace:

From what I have read, the pH and nutrients in a hempy bucket are treated similarly to a hydro setup. I pH the water to 5.7-6.2. Since the water pools in the bottom of the bucket like a mini reservoir, you have to take it easy on the nutes, so I am at 1/4 strength with my newly roothed clones. It is really easy to set up a hempy bucket, so you might as well give it a shot and see if it works out for you. I have high hopes for mine.

Funny that you mention perlite in the shot glass and mug because I was thinking about it. The drainage issue is the only reason I ditched the idea. I might experiment later on with small scale hempys using extra clones.

The mother plant looks phenomenally better than it did before I flushed it this morning. The plant has perked up and looks a lot healthier. Hopefully it'll recover but I don't know what to do from here...do I ease up on the nutes or go stronger?

I envy you and your trainwreck. That will definitely be on the grow list next time around. Thanks for sticking around buddy. :bigjoint:
 
haha, no problemo. i might suggest one more watering of just superthrive and pure water to make sure that shit is salt free, then you'll be guarnteed a clean slate. otherwise, it's ready for food when you are.

how are your hempy buckets constructed?

Alright, cool. I'll probably wait one more watering before adding the nutes back in. The plant does look 100% better. She was even looking good enough to cut some more clones from in anticipation for a perpetual sog hempy grow.

I bought a bunch of 5.5" square plastic pots and covered the bottom holes from both sides with high quality electrical tape. Then, I cut small holes a little ways up each side of the pot (in my case it was 1.5" but it depends on pot size) then I glue small patches of screen over the holes. I've got 4 active buckets right now with 2 clones and two autoflowering seedlings. The clones I cut tonight will go into another 4 buckets I made earlier today. Are you considering giving it a try? Would you opt for straight perlite or maybe a perlite/vermiculite or coco mixture? I just went for straight perlite since it sounded the simplest.
 
I think I will, it makes a lot of sense. I'd go with straight perlite as well, with an air pump going to the bottom w/ a bubblestone.

I'm also starting to branch out into beneficial bacteria and fungus in my soil, something i haven't fucked w/ too much yet.
 
hey man! can you tell me how you did that little drip system you got there. Im in the same boat as you with leaving town on the holiday and need to figure out somthing .
