I’m really just shooting from the hip man I can tell it shows by your reaction! And I completely appreciate it ...every winter dry it’s always been way to fast and then saved by paper bags and I’m just really looking for a more effective less moving of plant around and really slowing down the dry time and you’re right I am over complicating it I’m known for it
I overcomplicate all the time and understand wanting a perfect 60degree 60rh dry but it's damn near impossible in the winter when it's cold and you don't have precision climate controls. Boveda packs are essential for storage in winter or patients might mention how dry it is, most don't seem to care to them it means they are getting more flower, lol. But I like the packs for getting them back to where they should be.
I prefer to wait until after a week or two of curing before adding the boveda packs.
If I'm underestimating the size of your grow and you have a lot of material then substitute plastic totes with lids for the brown bag in the method mentioned above and turkey bags instead of jars.
Your initial dry is gonna be super fast with that low of an rh, and in my opinion that's fine, you just need to slow down the second part of the dry which is after the majority of the water is gone. The outside of the buds can even feel crispy but the stems and insides have water in them. You wanna slow that last bit of moisture coming out and a brown bag or your box is good for that. Monitor close as soon as the stems go from bending to breaking go to a jar. Check after 24 hours if the buds feel too wet leave the top off for half a day. If they feel dry or just right continue with burping once a day for a week or until smell comes back and the green plant smell is all gone. I usually do a smoke test to make sure that it's ready and not still planty tasting . After I'm sure it's good usually about 1.5 to 2 weeks in jar I add a boveda pack.
