I've had this mixed breed dog. He's pretty much a mut, but he has a little bit of pit. Only his head though.
Anyway I live in California, I can PM the city if you think you can provide me with some info. I've had the dog for about 2 years, that is his age and he is adorable and wonderful. I refuse to let him get put down at some pound. The delema is, im moving in less than 3 days and he has to go.

does anybody know of a service that is available for these kind of situations? Any help +rep and is greatly appreciated =]:peace:

man u need to keep the dog, theres supposed to be a special bond there.

look for "no kill" pounds, or give him to a family friend.
i just hope u can look into that dogs eyes and just abandon him forever though.

No neighbors or friends would take him in?

if you dont have a family member or friend that could take it i would try to make arrangements to take him with me. i wouldn't leave my dog behind who would blow him hits? all else fails post an add on craigslist that you have a chill dog you want to go to a GOOD home. might have some luck

If you are thinking one of these shelters are TOO long of a drive from you house or you cant make time because your moving so you just want to take him to the pound by your house just remember he diserves life.

there was a story in the news here not long ago about a woman who gave her dog to these other people. she found them to be really really nice and thought it would be a good home for the dog. those people ended up torturing and killing the poor thing :( i could never let my dog go...if i was moving and the place either didnt allow dogs, or didnt have room...i'd either find a different place to move, or i'd stay put. if i absolutely had to get it a new home i would only give it to someone i know and trust. like a close relative or close friend.

Sound's like some story i'd read in a myspace status update

No offense though

I gave away two of my dogs once when I moved out of the county... I've never forgiven myself of it. I still think about them 10 yrs later.

Don't do it.

wow, so helpful you all are.

take him out in a field somewhere and dump him off, it's just a dog.

cats forever.

i have a cat too and it kills shit like crazy. unfortunately there is a different bond between a man and his dog, and throwing it out like an old book shelf or something is terrible. just buck the system and take the dog man

Lmao
I do the same thing with cats that shit in my yard...

Anyway you guys are all WAY to critical about this. I'm fucking 18 years old and I'm moving out of my mothers house. GIVE ME a BREAK. I love my dog with all my heart. But i have prerogatives and im getting on my feet. I have more time to get him to a good home now, about a week. The point is my landlord/roomate wont have it. NO DOGS. So please people, help me out with a little more info =]

FDD. SENCE I LIKE YOU, YOU GET A COOKIE. AND A REP.
