............ALSO everybody pick by the trichs not by the days/weeks or how many pistils have turned red either, Ed Rosenthal said it best the buds are like a banana picked too early while green, though you can eat it, it's not ripe and it has nothing on one that is yellow with a few spots get a 60 - 100x scope and wait for the resin profile you prefer best

I've grown Nirvana White Widow. I got the seeds from Nirvana directly, not some middleman company. I had very good success with their strain and have grown it several times. The last time I grew it ( from clones of one of the original seeds ) I had the flowering time go for a full 12 weeks befor the trichs changed color, as opposed to the 8 or 9 weeks that they originally flowered from. As this was from clones I had a heck of a time figuring out just why they took so long to ripen as opposed to earlier grows.
Checked my humidity, temps, and nutes for changes. And checked for light leaks. The only thing I did differently was in the use of super soil and I don't know yet if that had anything too do with it.
After all that I did figure it out finally,,,, It was that my 400 watt hps lamps where over 1 and a half years old, Although they where still working, putting out light, I have since found out that older lamps do not put out the light or light spectrum that is needed to grow healthy plants to a good finish, even though they look like they are working properly. I got to talking to my hydro store manager and she was telling me how the 'big boys' always change their lamps out after their third grow, or once a year, just because of this problem. I changed the lights and voila, my remaining blue dreams started doing what they are supposed too be doing, even though they are about 3 weeks past due for ripening. The trichs are full and frosty, no amber yet, but definately better than befor and on the way to being a good harvest.

I hope this might be of some service to your problem

Thanks everyone. I'll post pictures of my hashberrys in a few hours time as soon as I can get into my flowering room.

if you can't tell the dif between the cloudy and clear trichs, just wait til you see some amber then harvest.. like folks have said, you are harvesting too early.. crap seeds or good seeds, all will change the color of the trichome. the trichomes show the thc being processed.. the thc is at its most potent when cloudy, the amber trichs are more cbn or something that gives you a couch lock feeling. normally plants that say 8 weeks flower seem to take about 11-12 weeks until "fully" ripe.. again, crap seeds or good seeds, shouldn't matter as far as trichomes changing. be patient. it will be worth it..

I'm no pro but something is awry? I took a clipping about 2g's from my king's kush about a week ago and they still have 2-3 weeks left. I air dried it for 3 days cured it in a jar for 2-3 more and smoked on some of it last night. No couch lock but it hit my brain hard it felt like. I'm assuming that's massive amounts of CBD or something. Anyhow, again maybe it's the different strain etc but I think it should of done something

Noone has asked yet, are you're plants 100% dry when you smoke them? They dont have ANY potency unless they're dry.

I have had a similar no potency problem with WWxBB from female seeds. Now im cropping my second round with clones of the WWxBB and the problem seems the same, although I have not properly dried the buds yet I quick dried some and it did not get me stoned. This is confusing because the plants are covered in trichs, under the scope I have mostly clear trichs with some cloudy and very few amber (I would have thought this was peak potency once had time to dry).

I totally get where you are coming from Christopher because I just cannot understand it. I grew other strains at the exact same time that turned out great.

Defo harvesting too early....
Christopher them pics look like they could go another 10 days as well.

Pistils changing colour is one thing, pistils withered are another. You should be chopping when pistils have receeded into the bud. This whole haverst when you see 75% pistils colour change is Bull shit!

I dont wanna see any white hairs on my buds when i chop. I want them fully darkend off and receeded. The way it should be.

I'm just finishing flowering 3 hashberrys and it seems like it's gone the same way as my other two previous harvests. I sampled one of the hashberrys last night and it did not get me stoned at all. This is now the third time in a row this has happened. First time it happened with an ak48, then a white widow (nirvana also), then I discovered I had thrips so I thought that might be causing the complete lack of potency. After getting rid of the thrips I tried a cutting of the white widow which flowered the same way and now I've got 3 hashberrys, one of which I'm sure doesn't have any potency at all. I've been buying the seeds from pickandmixseeds.co.uk which is reputable I think. The white widows smelt a bit like white widows and the hashberrys also have a slight berry smell (no hash though) so I think I've been given the right seeds. It's possible that the compost for all these grows was too rich (plus unnecessary feeding) but surely that wouldn't have made these grows end up like this. I flowered all of the plants a long time and the hashberry that I sampled had been on 12/12 for 8 weeks so unripeness isn't the problem. It's not tolerance either because a proper smoke will make me stoned. I'm thinking now of going back to Amsterdam to stock up for a few months!
8 weeks on 12/12 does not neccassarily mean the plant is ready. Sounds like you are harvesting early being it has happened multiple times with multiple strains. Every now and then you get a pheno with little or no buzz but not bean after bean. Unless you have the worse luck in the world.

Harvesting early........

Let someone else smoke it and see if they get stoned..... Our minds can play tricks on us.. If it was one strain maybe but differents strains?

Honestly, I have not picked my plants too early. Surely, after 7 weeks flowering (8 weeks from 12/12), it should be okay to sample and I should get high from it? Concerning the trichs, I suspect that the plants I have just give up on creating thc for some reason which is why I've never ever seen amber (it was about 11 weeks flowering for my white widows). As for hairs, I've harvested all the plants when most of the hairs are red.
What were the temps/rh?, above 83deg thc will start to break down.
