Help! Very Pale Yellow Scorched Leaves

Hey so I thinkhave more than one problem......Maybe I should just give up.....
I'm a first time grower, so im sorry if this is common knowledge or an easy fix. I recieved a clone from a friend 16 days ago. It had two bottom leaves as well as newly developed third top leaf. A week ago the bottom leaves started to turn yellow, while the new leaves that grew were bright green. Now the old growth is very pale yellow and the leaves are paper like and look scorched in some spots. The new growth is green at first and then slowly starts to yellow (they still seem healthy though). The stem is also turning purple on its upper parts.

I use a 75watt neodymium bulb (5in away from top) and am growning in organic MGro potting soil mixed with chicken grit (small granite rock bits) and have not added any nutrients. I water twice a week using tap water that I leave out for a couple days before using as as well as mist with the same water twice a day. The pH is at 6.6 .

Well what do you think the problem is/are? Could it be that the havent taken root yet? (There were roots about 2.5 in long when I put them into the soil.) I hope the pictures help. Thank you.

ok thanks I just changed to cfls. The only reason I was using full spectrum bulbs was because the person who gave me the clonne was using them on the mother plant. I hope this helps, do you think anything else could be wrong?

maui start your own thread for help...Layz the soil your using isnt so good the only good usable MG soil is moisture control. Are you phing your water? In mg use 6.8 water .The plants had good roots before they went into the dirt also right? Looks like clay pots switch to plastic as clay makes it harder as they suck moisture and roots stick to them making transplants harder and more stressful

Thanks for the help, I'm going to be transplanting this weekend, what soil should I use instead (they're pretty fragile right now). The roots were good, and I actually have plastic pot inside the clay pot.
I'm scared it might be loo late the bottom leaves are beginning to dry up and die, can i cut them off or let nature take its course?

When a clone doesn't have roots it steals it nutes from the bottem leaves. If the new growth is yellow and you said they have roots you should start them on weak nutes in your misting bottle. If they look better in a few days (never expect change overnight) Start nutes when you water, but don't over do it. Good luck....

It is the MG soil that is causing your plant problem. The soil is too strong for young plants like yours and it is also nearly impossible to flush MG soil effectively. If those were my plants I'd repot into new soil, organic is good. Try fox farm or the one I use is Sweet Earth with coco, these have exactly what young plants need.
Good luck

layz plants cannot grow very much in such little soil looking at your pics i would say that there is not enough soil in your pot to sustain much more growth hence they can be rootbound re-pot using more soil and change the miracle grow unless thats all you have, fox farm is nice but all up to you im just looking at the plants from a different angle happy grow

defo nutes burn,,change to some good commen compost,,bit of sharp sand, perlite, worm castings,,promise ya babys will look great in 2weeks,,ph 6.2..much better,,temp 23cl
