Ask an electrician, if you know of one. If you don't know what your doing, I wouldn't mess with it. A mistake could cause a fire. From the looks of it, it needs to be re wired. i never seen one quite like his but i think the second pic is his capacitorI am almost positive you need a cap and do not have one there, this is size and bulb type dependant.
haha i never ground my hoods either but recommend it toLook in my albums in my profile, there are many pics of wiring one of those. It's really very easy. I have never grounded my hoods, but if you are able to, I'd recommend it.
It actually says ignitor on the unit in that pic, for the larger (magnetic) hps ballasts you need both. The cap is almost always a pretty standard cap, just a oval cylinder type thing with 2 wires.i never seen one quite like his but i think the second pic is his capacitor
i wouldnt tell anybody to do anything i wouldnt and i went to school to for ityes but when you have gone to school to learn this its fine and i wouldnt tell anybody to just do this because i did it on whimb but yes this kinda power is nothing to play with at all
