Help with Washing Machine Hash

Hello all,

I had a question for more experienced hash makers, and I am hoping that some of you may have some insight. I recently purchased a mini washing machine (similar to Bubble Now) for making hash. Until now, I have been doing it the old fashioned way with buckets and hand mixing and have had very good results, but due to a lack of time and an increase in trim I purchased the washer to try to lighten the load.

The problem I am having is that the end result I am getting is very green. I will post pictures later. In the past I never had any problems, and my results were always gold and bubbly, but now with this machine I am getting a green end product, and it burns slowly like incense. I was wondering if anyone had any idea what may be the culprit. I am using the same bags as I did in the past when I made it by hand, and when I made it by hand I always had nice golden results and a bubbly end result.

The bags I am using I bought on eBay because I didn't want to spend the extra money for name brand bags. They worked fine in the past, so I figured they would be just fine now. I am running the machine for about 15 minutes, and the first few batches I saw very lime green water and product, but was using fresh, but frozen trim (I never used fresh trim before but recently read that as long as its frozen well it shouldn't matter). Since then I have tried with dry frozen trim and got nearly the same results. The water was a bit darker with the dry trim, but the end result was still the same being very green in all bags. Also, the trim is in the 220 micron zipper bag in the machine, but I have also been filtering through another 220 bag before pouring through the catch bags.

The bags I am using are 150, 120, 75, and 25 micron. It seems that the consistency of the result is about the same as before, but the color and the combustion is different from what I have had with hand made hash. I will post pictures later of some of the hand made, and some of the machine made results I am getting, but I was hoping someone with more experience may have an idea of what may be to blame. It's got me upset because the machine was pretty expensive, and I am now seeing in my opinion worse end results than when I was doing everything by hand. I certainly don't want to go back to making hash by hand, but if the results are better I may not have a choice.

try running it for less time. the more you beat it up the more plant matter will get into your end product. (i use my friend's machine and it has a knob instead of a minute timer and i usually only turn it halfway). keep in mind the machine does a much better job of agitating it than you would by hand so it'll need less 'swishes'.
i also find that when using dry shake, even frozen, it helps keep the green out if you put it in and let it rehydrate for a few minutes before spinning.

and, i guess, experiment, experiment, experiment. the process involved is exactly the same as by hand (trim + water + ice + agitate + filters = hash) you just have to tweak the machine process to mimic what your hands are doing.

i agree tweek the time proccess for the first run try any where from 6 -12 min put your trim in a bag and put that in the washer fresh frozen is good never freeze stuff thats already dry and cheak your temps for absolute best results make it inbetween 34 and 36 anything above like 37 ul pick up lots of plant matter even cool the invornment your working in and lower the ammount of water you use dont add salt to get the water levels below 0 because then ul be picking up plant matter again do that and ul come out with ammazing shit! serious its all in the temperature!

also do not run fan leaves!

if i read that right "the trim is inside of the machine inside a 220 microns filter bag made to trap and collect all super fine golden bubbly hash????" dude, you would have better luck just dumping all the shit in the water/ice and not even fuck with anykinda bag, or hell put it in a plastic bag, OR better yet try putting in under the exhaust from the washer.....i know i know im giving you a hard time, but bro, why why oh why on gods green earth does that make sense to you????? if the bag doesnt let hash out cause its a filter screen, why would u use it in the washer????

yeah, you want to put your ice, shake, etc. right in the machine and catch the water that comes out the bottom in the bags.... and then if you want you can dump the what's left in the machine into the middle and give it a squeeze...

A buddy of mine has a washer and I've done it a few times with him. A good way of going about getting really high quality stuff (and taking a lot more of your own time to do so) is to run in 5 minute increments. Run the washer, collect what you've got, run the washer, collect, ect, ect until you end up with nothing but crappy plant matter infested low end garbage.

It takes significantly longer to do this way but you end up with a lot of different grades of hashes so you can be a total dick and charge up the ass for the high end stuff as well as being able to market the lower end hashes for cheap-os (or you can do what I do and just keep the lower end product for yourself)
