herbtoker's first grow: easy sativa, northern lights, and pure afghani

this has nothing to do with my grow but i want to show off my new toy. its called the rokit... i love it bongsmilie
That looks awesome !! I had to look it up: "This is a limited edition bong made in the UK has a patented cooling system which produces 1000`s of tiny air bubbles when you toke. These air bubbles mean your smoke is cooled and oxygen enriched for a satisfying hit time after time..not cheap but this will be a collectors item."
You'll have to let us know how it hits. I'll bet it hits REAL smooth with those 1000's of bubbles.:joint::hump:

oh yeah, ill let ya know. i just toked a few hits out of it the other night... it was smooth but i need to light up a fat bowl to know what its really like. :joint::mrgreen:
its awesome, $220 but hey i got some money and never had my own bong. thought it would be a nice way to start out haha. this week i have class and work everyday... but friday night.... im filling up the huge ass bowl on this bad boy and im going to another planet. ill let you know what its like.

so... my growin partner backed out on me today. :o i was really confused.

he was all for it, let me start at his house, smoked all the time, and loved tokin with me.
then today he says, im not gonna smoke anymore, i dont want to grow anymore either. so now i get the full responsibility and he fucked me over. i was pretty mad but even more confused. what the fuck.

ill have plant updates tomorrow. i hope they look good and i hope they grow 5 pounds of bud. then hell ask for some and ill say no, you dont smoke remember? dont know where his idea to stop smokin and growin came from, but what ever.

I've got friends who repeatedly 'quit' - usually a paranoia thing about health or social implications, but they always warm up to the idea of toking again after being sober for a while. My buddy had a panic attack his first time eating marijuana (cookie form), after 3 years of happy toking, then started getting nervous every time he smoked it - until he took a months break.

As for not wanting to grow, especially in the US, it's perfectly understandable... People are worried about getting into trouble, and naturally you'll be more worried after actually doing something than just thinking about it - and even if he does start smoking again I'm sure he'll understand that not doing any work + not taking any risk = no harvest.

I'm pretty confident you can handle it all on your own :bigjoint:

thanks for the support. i understand his decision... we talked way before the grow and knew that it would be very risky but we were gonna do it anyway. your right though, he smoked again and he went to water the other day when i told him i had to. so who knows what will happen...i hope he keeps helping!

i should have updates for you all tomorrow, but ive been saying that for about two weeks now. i really should though hopefully. they are doin much better! dont forget to stop by tomorrow sometime. :joint::mrgreen:

haha that's cool, nice that he's still on board too. I don't know the guy but from most people I'd say uncertainty of the matter isn't the least bit uncommon.

Your grow looks good, I'll be following it closely. I've got some more seedlings started in better soil with less frequent watering and they're doing a lot better than my other ones were before they went to crap so I think I've got mine under control.

peace

DAY 36!!!

sorry guys, been awhile since ive been on here. been real busy lately. i have updates and a lot to say

yea GipRotRe for sure ive found that a little less frequent waterin works nicely. im glad hes stayin on board too, i just wish he wouldnt keep telling me stuff and then do the opposite... whatever if hes not gonna help ill do it on my own and if he does want to great i can use some help. good luck with the new grow, send me your journal link so i can keep an eye on yours!

finally went back to visit the babies today. i hadnt been since friday, but its rained a few times. its been raining all morning here but i wanted to give them a good dose of water cause they havent had a real watering in a long time.

i was real happy when i got back there. they all seem to be doing nice. 2 of them are really tall, do you think theyre stretched? i dont know what i could do for more light, they are outside in the middle of a forest. oh and good (well not for me) news. theres something growin back there in the forest on the way to my plants either poison ivy or oak cause friday when i got home from checkin them i was covered in a rash. thought that it was just a bunch of mosquito bites but it wasnt better yesterday so i went to the doctor and they said theyre 100% sure its poison ivy or oak. i gotta be careful but now anyone who goes back there will not have been warned and will hopefully get a rash if they want to go back there.

i gave them each a gallon of water today. its raining when i took the pics, but not enough to get them all good water. tell me what you think. i am very happy they seem happy and growin good. i can kinda tell the difference in the e.s. and n.l. im guessing the n.l. is the ones that have the really short fat leaves (indica). tell me what you think!

any suggestions or ideas? what do you think? how am i doing for a first time grow? anything helps! thanks! :joint::mrgreen:

Looking good, now that they are nice and strong, if you are planning on trying fimming or topping they should bush out good for you.
Keep up the good work and avoid the poison oak/ivy:mrgreen::peace:.

thanks big guy, i was going to top actually but totally forgot to take scissors back with me today. i will next time i go back. probably not for awhile but ill do it and take pics.
what do you do with the pretty tops? i hate to just throw them away, it seems like a big waste!:?

i forgot to ask you all a question.
when i watered yesterday there were two mushrooms growin in the pot of the plant in the first pic i posted yesterday (i pulled them before taking the picture). i was reluctant to water but decided i would and would ask you guys what you thought.

what does that mean? should i not water it for a longer time than before or should i just not worry about it and keep doin what im doin? that plant seems to be doing fine, nothing wrong with it i dont think. ill take pics next time if theyre there when i go back.

umm .. about the mushroom .. its probably too humid and usually i dont see mushrooms in sunlight they prefer darkness to grow check those factors

thanks gifman it has actually been pretty humid here i dont know what to do about it though with it being outdoors. as for the shade i didnt think it was in the shade but i actually did move it a little bit so hopefully we dont have anymore fungus growing!

ill try to get over to take some pics tomorrow.

any thoughts or ideas would be nice

i dont have many ideas to help you ... sorry bro .. but anymore questions i could try to help you with that :)

the only other thing i am worried about is the stretching... do a couple of my plants look really leggy and tall with not many nodes? i am going to top them tomorrow probably (probably just 2 or 3 of them in case they dont like it/i do it wrong) but i dont want to have really lame little plants. i want some bushy ones, not like they are now

all i know about stretching is more light .. i had one stretch on me really bad but it's doing better now .. i left it inside too long but now it's doing alot better

yea i was thinking the same thing but i dont know what to do with it since its outdoors... i think if i just wait and top the ones that are really stretchy theyll hopefully get bushier.

if i top a couple and then decide they look really nice, can i do it to the other ones too (later) or should i not top them after they get to a certain height/age?

honestly i dont have a CLUE about topping.. i've never really looked into it .. but just i guess read around some about it .. then only try one plant to see how it does .. only thing i know is do it at a 45 degree angle :/

ok well i was really bored today and decided i would just go back there today instead of tomorrow and top a few of em. i did 3 of them. i hope i did it right.

the first pic is of my tallest one before topping it. the second is the same one after i topped it. the other ones are just cause i wanted to show you guys some more pics

tell me what you think! hows the topping? how do they look (besides the bugs... gotta get meself some bug stuff cause theres some tiny holes in a few leaves)? anything helps! critique me!!!!

They'll be fine, you'll be glad that you topped them as they fill-in real good after that, at least mine did, and your's look just as healthy.
As for the bugs, I hate em, I'm hoping that this neem extract does the trick. It's kind of messy to make, but it also has nutrients in it as well. Here is where I bought a 5 lb. bag for about $15 w/ shipping.
Hope this helps, keep up the good work.
