ok i just came into this thread wantin to tell my poor fellow RIU brother that shit happens its a choice that he made, im very sorry just went through the same thing, a buddy of mine OD'ed and died and im just startin to believe it :'( but its life and i know she didnt do it on purpose and worse even, i knew her and tlked to her about it all the time but her family didnt know. but i ended up readin this whole thread and im disgusted by what some of you turned it into.!! i just really cant belive it!!. but some of you i reallly enjoyed and have never givin this much rep in one thread,, tried to give a few ppl rep like 4 times but cant rep that much lmao.. but for the future please dont make this a repeat, especially in a thread of mine.

ive done it but fuck its not all that and dam sure not worth diein over its just gonna get you hooked and bring you down till you hit bottom then you either die or realize what you have done and regret it the rest of your life and either way you eventually have to stop usin the shit!

man everyones addiction is something different, was it actually herion or was it the synthetic stuff? because the needle is way harder then anything synthetic, if it was the needle your friend had some serious issues, and its sad he didnt take life to seriously

Quite the contrary, I find it is. I find as long as I have a motive as to why I do not want to get addicted (which I do), then I am strong willed enough to not notice the 'addiction'. Like I never feel like I need more, hell I don't even feel like i want more of w/e it is.. if I stop cold turkey I do not get sick. It's kinda nice.

It may be a drug...but it isn't a drug that has claimed many lives. Heroin and Marijuana are two completely different things...I'll smoke marijuana until I develop munchies that could feed several generations of life...never Heroin..hell no.

First off, I'm sorry for all the pain you've been through.
Nothing in life is guaranteed, there are plenty heroin users that do it recreationally and live very successful lives im sure.
I personally have done my fair share of drugs, I am personally chasing the "perfect" high.. I'm only 19 and i've done heroin before (looking for that perfect high) 3 times within a 48 hour period.. You seriously do get addicted after the first time, all it takes is one session..
Depression has also triggered me into drugs, they say people contemplate suicide when there pain exceeds there coping mechanisms.. Heroin, and drugs in general, help to boost your coping mechanisms and reduce pain therefor keeping people out of that mindstate. Sobering up into the real life just doesn't appeal to alot of people.. They want to be high 24/7, and since Heroin is IV normally it's extremely easy (and fairly cheap) to keep yourself doped up all the time.. It will be the best event of your life, until it ends and your in pure horror.
You can't put marijuana and heroin in the same term.. They couldn't be any more different..

It's all about the person being referenced. You can not paint everyone with the same brush, some people will not have addictive personalities (or addicitve traits) as other may, or to an extent that another may.
and personally, I'm sticking with this, if you are strong willed addiction is a figment of your imagination... I'm not saying this from a lack of experience either, got 40+ substances under the belt.
