I was making budder in a small crock pot...now I make kief instead,easier and works well.

recipe
1/2 baggie sugar leaf trim(1gallon size)
1lb dry ice
5 gallon bucket
120micron shaker bag
load weed and chunks of ice in sack...wait for it to get cold
shake up and down,bounce the bag
keep going until no more dust falls into the bucket
yield about 10grams
mix the kief up in coconut oil(virgin)and bake away.

I don't understand not weighing out material, total stoner approach. I got my shit down to a science, know exactly how much canna butter to put in my batches to get the affect I want (typically twice as strong as a casual smoker should have).

I often use Krusteaz double chocolate chip cookies, 70g canna butter 42g real butter (calls for 1 stick) to my cookies. The 2+oz of weed to butter ratio makes it so you can get away with a lower amount of canna butter. If you make 2 dozen cookies out of that batch thats about 2.9g of canna butter per cookie (I usually make about 20 - 3.5g per cookie) from there you can adjust your dosage by either making bigger cookies or adding more canna butter less real butter to your next batch of cookies.



I don't know if technique makes a flavor difference but I make my butter over 2 days… bring a lb of butter to a boil dump in herb (usually 2-2 1/2oz depending on material) let boil for 15 min, bring water down to a simmer, at this point I pull it off the burner for a while. Simmer at around 125 for 2 days. I find my butter has little bud taste when mixed into something like cookies or brownies.
That is a LOT of work! I send my flowers to @cannabineer, they come back de-carbed, in oil form. I measure out by the gram, or fraction thereof and add to my choice of cooking oils, butter, coconut oil etc.... It's that easy to make edibles. But I worry about being to much of an idiot and consuming way to much. So I just portion into gelatin capsules and swallow it with some hot coffee and milk.

I've used veg oil, olive oil, and butter to extract and they all stink up the whole house and take forever and you get the smell and taste in the final product.
Then I learned to make qwiso. It's so easy and doesn't smell at all. Now I use qwiso hash oil to make edibles and you can't smell or taste it and you can get the exact dosage right everytime.
After you make the hash oil, measure out a gram and dissolve in melted butter. Use the hash oil butter to make whatever you want. It works better than anything else I've done and you know exactly how much your eating everytime.

Here's some brownies I made yesterday. I used 2 grams of oil. I cut these into 48 1x1 pieces. That comes out to 1/24 gram per serving and that will keep me medicated for 4 hours. People with a lower tolerance it last longer and they get pretty high off one little piece.

And, at $2.50 a piece that's $120 for a box of brownies, just saying.
