i was going to give advice until i read through it seems he does not want advice nor anything from us cause he knows it all.
I am just generally discussing shit about growing in a rented house now, i got my answers from people who posted before, and if you can read
"thanks for the info on the larger fan with speed controller" i was thanking people for their information wtf are you even on about.

Dude who cares bout people like that, if its good advice and you're smart then take it. Who gives a shit if someone else thinks they're cooler than you and grow better bud just BC they're older. You've gotten some advice from people who are actually trying to help, and some good ideas, too. I'm gonna remember that fish tank one, lol.

Some great tips here-stealth is totally doable, even in an apartment with the occasional visitor. Flowering (obviously) is gonna be the big stinker, but do the math with how many cubic feet your dealing with and make sure your ventilation replaces your air every 5 minutes, make sure you have twice as much exhaust as intake, yadda yadda. But definitely learn to fix stuff around the house yourself. If you get a townhouse or apartment in a really big complex, there will be routine maintenance stuff like fire detector checks, air filter replacements, etc.

I don't think a landlord can come in without giving you notice, or without you there (laws may differ for you, tho). But just be smart, do the numbers with your ventilation/carbon filter, and try and find a place like a duplex or a house split into apartments, where the landlord owns several other properties but not enough to need official inspections and stuff. You should be good after the move in, as long as you don't have a catastrophic leak or something you can't handle.

I mean, the dude was definitely a dick about how he said it all, but you have to understand where he is coming from. You are gonna be growing in someone else's house, and it is gonna be risky. Just be sure and watch your shit, and hope that you find a landlord that burns, lol.
Maybe i was being a dick after being insulted... but thanks for the info, i do know how to grow am on my 3rd as we speak, its just gettin an apartment and dedicating a room, i dont wanna have 6 plants flowering and have to take em down early for sure, i went to college for general construction so i should be good on fixiing shit up.

respect their propertly, like iw as gonna strip the house down and have every room full of plants? OD in his apartment? naw i think he was being a dick.

I put mine out in the car also. I just packed my tent and lights ect up and let them do there thing. But it was one of the very reason's I don't grow indoors any more. I cant speak for Scotland but here in oz they fucking hate indoor grows. I got busted years ago with one tiny little plant (15cm high). The kit I had at the time, had 6 fluros in it (ONLY A SMALL KIT ABOUT THE SIZE OF A SMALL FRIDGE) and the cop cunt made it sound like I had a whole room decked out in court. This was in Queensland laws differ here depending which state your in.

1 Plant cost me $2000

Here in oz if you get caught growing and the land lord, real estate find out, your fucked!! Out on your ass and your name put on ticka (website for black listed people) No more houses or renting. I have kids and a misses so I'm not willing to take the risk any more as a roof over my kids head is more important than growing a bit of weed inside.

Outside for me Just something for other renters to think about, it's getting harder and harder in oz to get a house to rent so if you end up on ticka your fucked. Even private land lords use it so just be aware of it. That's the last place you want your name! Somethings are worse than a fine!!

Thinking it would be similar in Scotland?

Oh and I'm not telling anybody not to grow inside, that's just my personal choice. Thought I would give other people that rent the heads up and let them know that there are other consensuses beside just getting busted by the cops.

Peace

Growing in an apartment is fucked. I used to have to box up all my equip and shove as much under my bed as possible, box up my plants (bagged if I had too,) and me and the girls would set up in a Motel 6 over night, two nights if the inspections would be taking place over two days and I didn't know when I would be getting my inspection.

Eventually I just told my landlord that I'm a photography student and am setting up a dark room in my apartment. I told her it is very very important that it is never exposed to light and even showed her the grow tent. I explained to her that I vented out the window because the chemicals I use smell and aren't good for you. After that I never had a problem, I just put up a sign on the grow tent that said "DARK ROOM: EXTREMELY PHOTOSENSITIVE!" I so wish I did that a long ass time ago. Now I live in a house and grow as much as I want all over the house and in the backyard.

Oh by the way! This is something you have to do only if you are growing in your living room, like I was. I didn't want to share a room with my plants, it's not comfortable. If you do grow in your room and it has a lock, they cannot enter if you lock it. If it does not have a lock, you have to ask your landlord if you can put one on, I believe. At least this is how it works in Cali. If you don't get permission, put the lock on anyways, they aren't getting in without a key or a lawsuit.

U really need to find out what they are "inspecting". I live in a apt n just had inspections last week Thursday. I have 11plants in flower and 4 in veggie. I use my closet in my bedroom. When they inspect they check ur electric. Basically sockets in each room. Water sources. Windows. Doors. I cut off all lights except for 1 n slightly left the door cracked just so he noticed electric was working. No excess noise. Keep ur TV on. Have ur carbon filter ready. Plug in a couple glade electric air Freshener. When they are light u a cigarette or a black n mild just to add another smell.

Keep ur house extra tidy. Vacuum every two days. U smoke bud so, 50/50 alcohol/water mix. Wipe off ur doors n glass. Cleans them well. Make sure ur kitchen and bathroom r spotless. Act like u got a new hot chick coming over for the first time. Be friendly n talk BS w/ them while they are there. Occupy there mind. Sometimes I cook just to have the food aroma in the air. 1 thing I know that works is act as if u have an issue w/ ur smoke detector n act like u want to learn. Take there mind off important shit. Think!
Put ur plants in a closet in bags then hang clothing and coats all around them. Its alot u can do. Just DO NOT BE NERVOUS OR FUNNY ACTING!!!

wow cheers, man, yeah im a tidy kinda guy, alcohol/water mix to remove the lingering odor, nice one man would have never thought of that. vegging plants shouldnt be a problem, its the flowering ones, because if there is no filter then there is smell, i suppose hire a van park it and keep them in there wouldnt be a bad idea either.

If you had a potable closet and line the insides w/ blk. That's personal. Nobody has to check that and if so they might as well be the police. Usually I use 91% alcohol rating. Works well. I don't buy Windex n shit. Whatever size bottle ur using just go 50% water 50%alcohol. That same mix I use w/ small bug ctrl also. Gnats n spidermites and ants hate this shit

I am fortunate in that my inspections do not involve the landlord going in the room my tent is in.

Yeah, he was definitely being a dick. I'm in your same boat; staying with a friend and using his space, but I can't just take over his house. Honestly, the best places to look for (if its possible in your area) are smaller houses in rural areas. I'm trying to find a good farmhouse, but that's not too hard where I live.
