Before I go and change the topic I just wanted to say thanks to everyone again. I'm taking everything that was said into some serious consideration, so don't think it just went in one ear and out the other. 
I might throw a pm or two out to some people with some questions.
So instead of making another thread I just figured I could sort of redirect the conversation. I'm in the beginning stages of planning a grow room out and am on the light part. The room is 12'x12' and my original idea was to do a Sea of Green style grow. I'd have three long tables, each split into two different sections. The tables would be constructed to be 8'x3' each, so each section would be a 4'x3' area. Three long tables, 8'x3', and six "sections", each being 4'x3'.
Clones would be used, so what I'm getting to isssss!
Would it be better to have a 600 watt HPS stationed over each section, or would using a 1000 watt HPS on a light mover be more efficient? Each 1000 watter would be moving along the rail a little bit to cover the designated table and I was thinking I could stagger each light so one side of the room isn't completely shaded while the other is getting loads of light. I've looked up a bunch of different threads, some saying that 600 watt hps are more efficient. On the other hand, light movers are known to help give light to more portions of the plant and I think the concept of a moving light (similar to the sun) would be pretty cool to let the ladies enjoy.
Soooo, fellow rollitup members, whatcha think? I'm leaning towards the rails, I think it'd be cool to learn something new and see it in action, but I'm certainly open to any/all suggestions!

rails are dope, and really work, but you're gonna want to make sure the light moves slowly enough to make sure all the gals get enough light for a long enough time...
i have one technical issue with your idea for sog, and that is why sog? more plants that yield less means more exposure and potentially longer sentences if caught... why grow 100 plants that yield 1 gram dry as opposed to 10 that yield 10 gram dry, or even 5 plants (which could be argued are for personal use) that yield 20 gm??? there are plenty of strains out there which yield big and strong... extra veg time the one time is all it will cost, and if you go "perpetual harvest" style you may find that you actually have faster turnaround once it is up and running smooth... just my two bits...

Gooood question, the "sections" are for a perpetual style grow haha, I figured I could place a few clones (whatever reasonable amount) in each section and get to the point where I would be harvesting a section every 2-3 weeks. I live in an area where getting caught with any amount of plants would pretty much fuck you over, so I never really thought to keep a limit on them haha. Of course, having a smaller amount of plants would make managing/tending to them a lot easier.. I'll have to look around for some good journals! Do you know of a good time interval to set the rails at? I'm not sure if it needs 30 min to get from one end to the other or something more/less. Never really looked into the timing behind them haha...

unfortunately i don't have enough experience to say for sure but i've seen and heard that something more like an hour cycle over the course of 14 hours (light cycle) is the method to use... the reason for the 14 instead of normal 12:12 is (i've been told and seen) that with the mover, not all of the plants will get the full amount of light if it is on a mover (unless the mover is for one tray only (in which case you'd need three or so)... now as far as plant count goes everyone should know that over 99 plants (in any form including str8 clones just chopped) is federal time guaranteed... but some states (many of them in fact) have a bit of discretion as to what constitutes a plant... check

for state specific information on counts and laws...
for example the state can consider 24 plants or less to be less than a pound (direct example: idaho) which is a 15k fine and a felony with a 5 year bit... but in the same state: 50 to 99 plants is a 5 + 3 year felony plus up to 50k fine... you see the difference? whereas in new hampshire there is no difference in plant count, only the weight involved... and at the same time in north carolina there is no plant count but *possession* of more than 1.5 oz is a felony and a fine...
there is *however* a legal precedent in some states that low plant counts can be construed as cultivation (a crime) but for personal use, and not trafficking with intent (a far more serious crime)... it depends on how good a legal beagle you end up with... as with the rest of life, you get what you pay for: the free lawyer ain't a gonna set you free, neither will the truth... not saying a thing, protecting your rights, and good lawerin' will give you a fighting chance... that is all anyone can hope for in times like these... i will tell you that not everyone who grows goes to jail, but the ones who plan on not getting stuck inevitably get the shaft... make your plan to go in reverse: go from the idea that you will get caught, and then take steps to limit your own personal liability: have a lawyer on payroll already, don't sign anything, make no statements (even statements of apology to the people you "hurt"), talk to no cop (even if you are blood relations): they want to jam you up: make them work for their supper... you sweat, make them do the same... don't flash, sag, or pack a gun... don't bump music... be respectful but distant, don't throw all the loud parties in the world... save your money, you earned it, don't waste it on crap you don't need... and like johnny cash said "let that cocaine be"... good luck

house renting is a fairly good idea i have looked into it myself and you can generaly speaking have 1000w per room without raising any suspisions. but be carefull for neibors and if it is in a residential area and now out in the woods or something like that it is best for your ventilation to go out from as high up in the house as possible. If you have an attic in this house that will probley be your best bet. back to the lighting if your a little more cautious like i, maybe using low energy LED lights would be your best bet.
