from what i've read 18" seems to be the rule but my question is;
is this because of heat? or is there another reason the plants don't like to be that close to the bulb?
im running a batwing open hood unfortunately right now on my 600 mh. plants are average 10" after 5 weeks since seed. im keeping the light 18" away, but im worried about heat.
im constantly seeing yellowing (and in some cases dying) leaves down at the bottom of the plant. the canopy is a nice green, but always losing the battle to yellowing on the lower leaves. i suspect this isn't a heat issue, but can't hurt to ask.
my journal is up to date if you want to see pics in my signature.
ph is at 6.5. using pro mix with perlite.
