the crosses that I made to my strain pinkie have thrown quite a few males that develop purple calyx and pistils for some reason (needless to say I CAN them) I remember DJ short talking about how these males prevent hermaphroditism in lines but although I respect the man immensely his lines are pretty well known for throwing hermis so.... I went with conventional wisdom and destroy any plant that exhibits intersex traits.
Have any of you bred a male with girly parts? I think the strain Spyder throws a lot of males that go shemale too if im not mistaken.

I've seen a couple of those in my ICE cross. Two grew above the light and it started throwing pistils in that area. And partly why it's on hold, probably indefinitely. The females are weird too though, spawn immature seeds without pollination (at least not obvious, and considering the even spread it seems... well, weird).

I agree with your post though, despite the source being DJ intersex is always the first trait one should imo select against as we want to grow and smoke sinsemilla. Sounds a conclusion based on perception too.

I usually cut hermi males out I never got the chance to play with them but I did cross the yoda og that hermed tord the end and black cherry coke stoped after a Chuck of pollen and gsc that one male did the trick but I bout another Pac n used the same lineGot 2 males and tested the theory? that Chuck produced herms!!! I killed that one.... cut clones of the other male, and grew them out , hit the same plants same species New babies to see what would happens, and bam I got a few stable strains going right now so I can't call it??? But the strains r almost the same as the other first plant the second showed a lot of males to one female n herms the third created stable Bach????I don't have enough research or tests but all I have cracked a good so far way to early to really say sorry not enough to base a conclusion...but got 3 weeks to go I'm guessing,??

Speaking of hermi males... if a male plant hermies and produces seeds, will those seeds all be male? Or can some be female since the male does have whatever the plant version of an x chromosome is that it could potentially pass on? Just thinking fem seeds are presumably fem because an xx mother can only pass down x's and so only makes xx girls, I'm guessing an xy hermi guy could probably make xy kids, but I'm not positive that plant gender is straight up xx/xy like ours or if it's more nuanced (which is probably more likely now that I think about it). Just thinkin' cuz it would be kinda cool to be able to buy masculized seeds.

I have a platnuim cookies xy or male it shot out male pollen sacs for a good few weeks its off spring produced some bomb ass weed xx I couldn't believe the quality out of the xx females I hitimage.jpg notice the pink lemonades turn purple inbetween the three is a green pink lemonade yet the platnium cookies changed its color and flavor yet the structure of the female stayed the same,image.jpg i have so much going on i could be wrong but i mistaken things in the past if i dont write it down but monster cookies is in the back ground same structure and yet the plant again turned purple yet the ones in the back stayed because they are the original color green, yet the crosses again same trait passed down color?image.jpg and again it did the same in another phenoe could be the pink or it could be alien head band i didnt write it down.. so the male to me had desirable traits i needed and to late to take cuttings??? Its life was almost over so I took the timer off to use it else were and manually turned off and on the light very randomly and the full blown xy male became xx/xy and seeded up in other words yes it can be done so i kept the few seeds they dont look very nice but they do have the seedling inside the shell and i glad that happpend!!image.jpg .. So cal seeds actually sells there chem dog male in seed form.

the intersex or "hermi" trait in cannabis is still being figured out as far as I know and its a pretty difficult one to breed out.
I dont think you can have YY without the offspring being a terminal cross.

if im not mistaken pretty much all Cali Con gear is hermi prone and especially the chem line, ive grown it myself and only had 2 out of 12 go intersex but still thats kind of high out of only 12

I don't really do the Cali con I do thump easy thon ;) but so cal seeds is different!!but ok?
