Your account can't be deleted because its content is only half yours the second you agree to the tos and start posting.
Sites like this one are often logged and copied by other sites or sold or however it works.
Plus they use the like feature so if you liked or get likes they would be in flux.
I know the characters on here can be prickly at times but there is a huge knowledge base that goes back further then the beginning of lps.

Yes we were, and we paid the dues. You are among some pretty experienced folks here. folks who don't play the LP game very well.
We know who has fucked us in the past and those folks work for LP's or own them. Anyone who deals with LP's is a fool. And a capitulator of the most unsavory kind imo.

It's nothing to do with RIU, it's a pecularity of XenForo, there's not a built in function for users to delete their own accounts. You need a mod to enable users to do it (which I'm guessing RIU doesn't have).

I'm not sure what the site's stance is on deleting accounts, but if you PM sunni she can probably tell you.
