how long does trim have to dry to be used for butter?

til the stem cracks, til its crispy. you can break leaves off with your fingers when its dry. just like if you were gonna smoke it

I've often wondered the same thing. I can read for months about peoples opinions on curing bud but when it comes to leaves, everyone says...Err...when they're dry!
Huh... Why do I have to cure my bud but not my leaves?
 
I have taken fresh trim.. frozen it for a few hours then used dry ice to do a keif extraction or a cold water wash to get some keif/hash to make medibles when I have been low..

but generally till leaves crack off and stems crack

I end up letting mine dry.. only outta laziness. and then making a few gallons of canna oil outta the trim.. but really there is not a reason to to so other then ease of use and I dont like the frying sound fresh trim makes when making canna oil...
 
With my last plant harvested I was in a hurry for butter so I just loaded all the fresh trim into a dutch oven and put it in the oven for 2 hours at 220 degrees. Came out dried and went straight into the butter. I have made 2 batches of cookies and a batch of rice krispie treats with it and my patients and I haven't noticed a difference. Normally I would let all my trim dry in a big paper sack, then decarb, then into butter.

in a pinch I chop off a few colla's place in the sun.. wait a few hours (during summer) they are dry within 4-5 hours ready for medibles..
 
i made butter without drying the trim just freezing it. If the trim is fresh off the plant put it in the freezer after it is frozen just break it up with your hands and throw it in the crockpot to make butter. I used fresh trim last time i made butter and it was killer!
