How much to water freshly planted seeds?

Hey Everyone, I'm having a hard time finding a clear answer on exactly how to correctly water my freshly planted seeds. They were germinated and I planted them yesterday. I drenched the medium until I got runoff.

I read they should never dry out, but not too much water either. For adult plants I read that I should water only when the medium is dry which is once every 2-3 days, but letting seedlings dry out like that would kill them right?

So what is the correct way and how do I tell if I am watering freshly planted seeds correctly? I was thinking maybe have a spray bottle and spray it once or twice a day to keep the top soil moist?

Thanks,

Well, first, we need to know which medium you are in. Soil? Peat? Coco? Other?

Next, what size pots did you sprout the seeds in?

So it's been 5 days and I have not seen any signs of life yet. I have been rotating between giving a light misting once a day (just to keep the top moist) and a heavy misting (til I get some runoff) the next day.

Well misting until runoff isn’t the best idea. Just a light one couple times a day to keep the top moist.

What are ur temps?

Can take up to 10 days so be patient.

You do not need to water those until runoff. A light misting to keep the top moist is all you need. Too wet and the seeds can rot. After 5 days you should have some sprouts. Don't go digging around trying to look though.
