How to disguise a grow

Wow do I feel like an asshole after reading this thread. I just basically told my friend he was stupid last week if he thought marijuana would show up outside on a heat sig:wall:. I told him those only work to bust indoor ops. This just made me think about if I really want to grow outside...???:? I don't think I know enough about it to guarantee I don't get busted. What adcice do any experienced outdoor growers have for a rookie to the outdoors? I do have a few years of indoor experience

I see people talking all the time about how marijuana has a different heat signature than other plants, and that it stands out like a sore thumb on IR scans, but I'll believe it when i see it. I've never seen one photograph or video clip that proves it. If someone's got a link to some definitive evidence (and I don't mean a blog or something where someone's just repeating what they heard someone say once), I'd love to take a look at it. But until then, I ain't buying it. Like FDD said once in a different thread, if it was really that good they'd find it all.

Plant in five gallon buckets and hang em way the hell up in a tree. Nobody looks up, you cut down on critter probs, and they'll get more light. Gotta be close to a water source though.

hmm make a pulley up in a tree so you can let it down to water.. ooo this might be a decent idea o_O

maybe you just shouldnt leave any incriminating evidence around the area and dont be an idiot and grow right next to your house like in your backyard, walking distance is usually nice, it keeps the eyes away from your house, also if you do have a path to your garden outside, put ducttape on the bottom of your shoes to prevent foortprints from showing in the ground, footprints are incriminating evidence.

I tried growing in trees last year in Wisconsin. It didn't work for me. I couldn't get up High enough into the canopy for good sun. You have to think that these plants will be 5feet tall or more late in flower. They will need tons of support, and it will be hard to finagle that thing thru the trees and shit. It's way better to have a platform and use a ladder to get up there, but that creates a whole bunch of more planning and head aches. I decided it's not worth it to Geurilla grow. I just stay inside. Every man for his own though. If we can come up with a better plan on here I would be down to do a journal on it.

Maybe thats it???, look everybody this guy just solved it all for us:clap::clap::clap::clap: Round of a Fucking pplause...... I never knew duct tape magically made foot prints not show up? It may stop from your print being identified, but foot prints will still show up, and that will help u how? It may help if you accidentally plant near a dead body and the FBI starts checking the foot prints in the area, but other than that I wouldn't worry too much. To be honest it sounds like u never grew outside, or inside for that matter.I hope you stick around here on RIU, this place is awesome for new growers.

What about oak trees, like not huge ones, but the ones that are skinny and about 4-6 feet tall.

they are really green and its a good disguise

Why would the Narcs care if you have 3-4 plants growing out in the middle of bum fuck nowheres? I would think they only care about operations with intent to sell or distribute. Once again this law baffles me.

Hank.

Everything dies in the fall except marijuana so idk what your talking about hiding them with other plants. If your going to such measures to disguise your grow you don't have a good enough spot.

you know, tomatoes and runner beans are pretty nonchalant crops to grow along with marijuana, just because they tend to grow pretty tall and look just as leafy. they also won't really affect the pH of the soil. give it a shot if you feel like it

Go to the hobby store or where ever they sell fake Flora with the bendable wires... Make it look like it has little flowers... or different leaves. Also make sure its relative height doesn't grow much larger then the surrounding brush. if so tie the plants down. hell you should tie the plants down to increase yield not just for concealment.

plants being grown outdoors actually do not give off that much heat but plants being grown inside gives off alot of heat because they need alot of lights so its really all the lights that gives off all the heat
