How to increase resin levels signifigently!!!

Ya know this is probably one of the easiest but yet most effective tricks as far as resin production spikes. Right when your girls are ready to be chopped down leave them in the medium, turn off the lights and leave them in PURE darkness for 72 hours. A small breeze in the room would be great but NO DIRECT WIND on your plants. After those 3 anxious days you will return to your babies and find out they did have a little more in them than you had thought. Happy grows! One love!:clap:

Very old trick these days.
The plant in it's attempt to protect itself from the Sun's harmful rays, produces more trichomes, which just happen to be one of the MOST natural AND effective sunscreens on this planet.
Experienced growers will vary that time frame from 2 days to as long as 7 !!

It's becoming more popular. It's known to work more in the "White" strains.


"The Stichting Institute of Medical marijuana (SIMM), the first company to sell marijuana through the pharmacies of Holland, has been investigating the medical possibilities of cannabis, together with TNO laboratories and the University of Leiden.

One of their discoveries has been that to keep the ripe plants in the dark before harvesting could increase their potency.SIMM’s growers separated a crop of mature plants, harvested half of them and kept the other half in absolute darkness for 72 hours before cutting and drying. Analysis of the resulting dried buds showed that some varieties had seen an increase of THC of up to 30%, while CBD and CBN remained the same."

That is very much true. I remember reading a study that had proven that MJ plants were grown under uv lighting (as an addition to your other lighting) increased thc levels as the cannabinoid levels remained the same. Next stop..pets mart!!!

Myself i leave them in darkness for 72 and i keep the temps down around 50F... The cold will bring out the resin even more.......But if you have a low resin type plant, then don't expect much. plants don't miraculous produce globbs dripping down your plant.

although i heard this was a myth... that makes sense. Thc is produced to block harmful rays from the sun and production doubles in the darkness, how exactly does it work?

Wow..............................you guys are kinda funny sometimes.
I will just say I tried it on several diff plants on several diff occasions and saw zero diff in potency.
I did see slightly smaller yields and fluffier buds.
I've allready been informed multiple times that I'm a tard regards this subject but thought I'd share anyways.

I don't know anything about this topic but I did say that I like the AM. Bulldog avatar. My American bulldog just died and I love that breed.

There is no finer animal to ever walk the face of Gods green earth than a game bred American Bulldog.
I've been breeding them for 21 years now,I have learned so much from them and they have made me a better man for it.

THC is produced in the plant during the dark period and some of it is destroyed again during light on.

Leaving the plant in the dark for 72 hrs allows the plant to continue to produce THC with the stored energy without the light destroying it again the next day.

It doesn't increase THC production, it just stops it from getting ruined.

German Shepherds are 100% smarter dogs. Them dogs are thick headed animals. Sorry there beautiful dogs I just cant deal with how stupid they are.
My buddy been growing for about 2 yrs and he puts his in the dark for 72 hours also. Its just what he was told to do from a old grower so he has been I think I will.

We don't need dogs to be ultra-smart. They're not doing our taxes or running errands. Just obedient, and trusting in their owners. This falls 100% on the owner of the dog.

That a good looking Bulldog. I love the bulldog look..... But ,I bet if you follow the bloodline of the Boerboel you would see that it has a huge amount of American Bulldog Genes in it. In fact......I believe the American Bulldog (including all of it's previously used names0 is probably the most genetically influentual dog in the last 500 years. IMHO of course.

Wow! That's quite a statement. German shepards were originally bred for herding so you might find that task that have characteristics similar to herding they MIGHT excelle at. While bulldogs, American Bulldogs in particular, were bred for Bull-baiting and Bore catching. Standing off with a 1800 pound snorting bull who could kill you in one quick stomp, takes a different kind of smart..... We call that courage, fearlessness and brute testicular fortuity. Some might misinterpret that as stubborn or stupid but my bulldog was grey and 11 years old when he earned his BS and would had earned his Shutzhund I if he wouldn't had gotten sick. Most "smart dogs run from danger" Dumb one stand their ground and give up their lives to protect their owners. Self preservation is a basic sign of intellegence so I guess you are right. LOL
